On June 18, 2025, a tragic accident in Locust Grove, Georgia, claimed the life of 15-year-old volleyball player Aleia Kuhn, leaving her family and community in mourning.

The Aleia Kuhn accident has become a heartbreaking moment that has united people in prayer and support for her loved ones.

It was a typical Wednesday evening, much like any other in the South. Aleia, a sophomore at Skipstone Academy, attended youth group at Philippi Baptist Church—a place filled with joy, faith, and safety.

Her parents, Amanda Schroeder Kuhn and Christopher Kuhn, expected her to return home with stories and laughter, as she always did.

But in an unimaginable twist of fate, Aleia was involved in a devastating accident that claimed her young life.

According to the organization Caring for a Cause, it was a moment no one could have foreseen—a gut-wrenching tragedy with no one to blame, leaving everyone in mourning.

The Locust Grove community is still suffering from the loss.

Aleia was just 34 days away from her 16th birthday, a milestone she was eagerly anticipating. Her passing has left a gap that words can hardly describe.

Aleia Kuhn Was A Force Of Nature, Embodying A Life Full Of Color And Compassion

Born as the eldest child to Amanda and Christopher Kuhn, she grew up alongside her two younger brothers, Corben and Colter.

She was their protector, their role model, and their biggest cheerleader.

Aleia’s life was full of creativity, competition, and love.

On the volleyball court, Aleia shone brightly.

Wearing her #31 jersey for Skipstone Academy’s varsity volleyball team, she brought passion and grit to every game.

She also played varsity softball, donning the #12 jersey as a second baseman and right fielder.

Her athleticism was matched only by her ability to lift up her teammates with her infectious energy.

Her favorite colors—soft blues, pinks, and yellows—reflected her gentle spirit.

She had a legendary sweet tooth, indulging in Nerd Clusters, Kinder chocolate, Twizzlers, salt-and-vinegar chips, and Cheeto Puffs.

Chick-fil-A was her ultimate treat, always paired with an abundance of ranch dressing. These small joys painted a picture of a girl who embraced life with open arms.

Aleia didn’t just talk about her love for Jesus—she lived it. Her light shone in every interaction, making people feel safe, seen, and special.

She loved fiercely, forgave quickly, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her.

Aleia’s Parents, Amanda And Christopher, Are Dealing With A Big Loss

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Amanda shared her grief:

“My sweetest baby girl is now my forever angel. Please continue to pray for Christopher Kuhn and I as we have to do what no parent ever should have to. Also, remember Corben and Colter. Aleia was my backbone and my heart. She was too good for this earth, but I’m too selfish to not want her back.”

Christopher agreed with her, writing,

Their words catch the depth of their love for their daughter and the pain of her absence.

Aleia’s brothers, Corben and Colter, are also facing the loss of their big sister, who was their guiding light.

The family is leaning on the love and prayers of their community to find the strength to carry on.

Aleia’s friends, teammates, and classmates at Skipstone Academy—where she was a junior in the class of 2027—cherished her.

She had a special connection with Carter Spence, whom her mother described as “the love of her life.” Their young love was evident in Aleia’s ability to love deeply and wholeheartedly.

The Locust Grove Community Has Poured Out Their Support, Sharing Memories Of Aleia’s Radiant Spirit

Jennifer DeLee, a longtime family friend, wrote,

“I’ve know this family for years, and I’ve also had the pleasure of working a few tournaments with you. This organization is one of the best.
Our hearts are broken. Aleia was the best big sister to her brothers. Her light truly shined for Jesus in everything she did. I am honored to say I know her.”

Amber Nicole Evans, Aleia’s former fifth-grade teacher, recalled,

“Oh my goodness….
Amanda,
My heart is shattered. When I saw the post for prayer, I was praying for peace over the situation not even knowing it was Aleia. She was such a bright light in this world! Even when I taught her in 5th grade she was the sweetest little soul. Praying so hard for all of you!”

These tributes paint a picture of a girl who touched countless lives with her warmth and grace.

Following the Aleia Kuhn accident, the Locust Grove community has come together to support her family.

Caring for a Cause, a local organization, has established a memorial fund to help the Kuhns during this season of grief.

They wrote,

“While prayers are what this family needs above all else, if you feel moved to bless them financially, donations may be made through Caring For A Cause. Every gift, small or large, will support them in this season of unimaginable grief.”

The love shown through prayers, kind words, and contributions highlights Aleia’s impact. Her legacy of compassion and faith inspires kindness in her memory.

Aleia Kuhn lived a life that was far too short but infinitely meaningful.

She showed the world what it means to love big, forgive fast, and shine brightly.

As her family and community mourn her loss, they also celebrate the beautiful soul she was.

Funeral arrangements will be shared as they are finalized, giving those who loved Aleia a chance to come together and honor her memory.

The Aleia Kuhn accident has left a community heartbroken, but Aleia’s light will never fade. Her love, her laughter, and her faith will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
