Likewise, her father had won the cruise through his employer, making it a family getaway.
Tragically, Amy vanished from the cruise ship Rhapsody of the Seas on March 24, 1998.
Despite extensive investigations, no body or conclusive evidence of her death has ever been found.
Her family and many investigators believe she may still be alive, possibly a victim of human trafficking.
Over the years, there have been multiple alleged sightings of Amy in the Caribbean, including in brothels and on beaches, and even a disturbing photo that resembled her surfaced online in 2005.
These leads, while unconfirmed, have kept hope alive for her loved ones.
Legally, she was declared dead in absentia in 2010, twelve years after her disappearance.
However, the case remains open, and the FBI continues to offer a reward for information leading to her recovery.
