Kasean Pryor, a fifth-year forward at the Louisville Cardinals, was born to parents Sean Pryor and Trisha Segura on January 5, 2001, in Chicago, Illinois.

Sean and Trisha have played an important part in Kasean’s career thus far and have supported him greatly on and off the court.

Sean Pryor himself had an outstanding basketball journey.

He played high school basketball at Gordon Tech in Chicago before moving to Mineral Area College, where he shone under Tim Gray’s tutelage.

He earned a spot at Oregon State University and played for two years as team captain from 1995 to 1998.

Sean served as a Pac-10 Student-Athlete Advisory Council representative and was a leader on the court and in academics.

As a professional, he played in France and Puerto Rico, competing at an elite level.

After retiring from professional play, Sean transitioned to coaching and athletic development, sharing his expertise and passion at numerous institutions.

Sean Pryor Has Been The Director Of Men’s Basketball Academic And Student-Athlete Development Since 2020

Sean’s coaching career started at Mineral Area College, where he was an associate head coach and an admissions counselor.

He then moved to Chicago State University, where he was an assistant coach for six years.

During his time there, he developed players like Carl Montgomery and recruited some of the best talents who went on to play at NCAA Division I schools.

In 2016, Sean became the associate head coach at New Mexico Highlands University before moving into academic support roles at Eastern Michigan University and then Grand Canyon University (GCU).

Since 2020, Sean has been GCU’s Director of Men’s Basketball Academic and Student-Athlete Development, marrying his hoops acumen with his commitment to student success.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sean is proud to be a father.

He proudly posts pictures of his son Kasean on social media at every opportunity, expressing his desire to see him follow in his footsteps.

While Trisha Segura keeps a very low public profile, her love and support for Kasean are not absent.

Through her social media posts, she often shares photos and videos from her son’s games, celebrating his milestones with pride and joy.

Trisha’s support has been a cornerstone for Kasean, allowing him to grow up in a stable environment that encourages him through the ups and downs of his journey.

Kasean Pryor’s Parents Have Raised Him with Discipline, Love and Empowerment

Growing up in a household where basketball was more than a sport, Kasean was inspired by his father’s legacy and his mother’s encouraging words.

That hard work and dedication gave Kasean the leeway to forge his path, balancing the pressure of living up to a family legacy and his personal goals.

Sean and Trisha balance discipline, love, and empowerment in their parenting to ensure their children have what they need to succeed.

Their dedication to their son’s development, both as an athlete and person, shines through in Kasean’s accomplishments.

Kasean has shown great potential as a forward for the Louisville Cardinals.

His game is characterized by versatility and relentless drive, which he probably got from his father.

With the support of his parents and his decision, Kasean continues to build a promising future in basketball.
