On September 5, 1995, Lucas Wallmark was born to his father, Peter Wallmark, and his mother, Cathrine Wallmark. He spent his childhood in his hometown of Umeå, Sweden.

Professional Career

Lucas Wallmark debuted during the 2012-2013 Elitserien season by representing Skellefteå AIK. However, he moved to the rivals Luleå HF and represented Luleå HF for the next three seasons. 

He was drafted during the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Hurricanes in the 4th round as the 97th overall pick.

He signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on June 11, 2015.  

Lucas scored his first NHL goal with the Hurricanes on December 30, 2017, during the 2017-18 season. He scored a memorable goal in a match against St. Louis Blues.

In 2018, Lucas was reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers. However, the team was eliminated from the 2018 Calder Cup playoffs.

Carolina Hurricanes

Lucas played over 160 season games in the NHL with Carolina from 2016-17 to 2019-20; he accumulated 54 points (22-32-54). Furthermore, he has recorded five points (1-4-5) over 15 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Lucas Wallmark scored one goal and achieved an assist after seven games with the Panthers.

Chicago Blackhawks

On October 12, 2020, he signed a one-year contract worth $950,000 with the Chicago Blackhawks as a free agent. 

‘Next Step’ With Hawks

Lucas Wallmark did not receive any offer from the Panthers. It made him an unrestricted free agent.

Lucas added his defensive abilities to the Blackhawks team and strives in his offensive skills if necessary.

Before terminating his contract with CSKA, Lucas made two playoff appearances on 4 March 2022 due to the Russian Invasion.
