Luis Nery made his official professional boxing debut on May 5, 2012. Further, he faced off against a fellow Mexican, José Guadalupe Salgado.

The match was a quick decision as Nery instantly knocked his opponent in just above a minute first round via knockout.

Likewise, he came back into the ring within a month of the victory to claim his second win.

On Aug 15, 2017, Luis finally got a shot at The Ring and WBC bantamweight championship. Further, he faced Shinsuke Yamanaka for the title fight.

Many predicted this fight to present Nery with his first career loss, but he had other things in the plan.

Hence, he beat Yamanaka via knockout in just under two and a half minutes in the fourth round. The fight started with both the fighters trading back and forth blows.

However, Pantera landed a huge left cross at the start of the fourth, followed by a barrage of punches. As a result, Yamanaka was unable to defend himself, making Nery the winner.

Super Bantamweight Title and First Career Loss

On September 26, 2020, the Mexcian boxer moved up to the super bantamweight class. Further, he made his debut for the WBC super bantamweight title against Aarón Alameda.

Just like his previous bouts, he again maintained the pressure by string time and again. As a result, he won the bout via a unanimous decision to be declared the new WBC super bantamweight title.

However, the victory would be short-lived as he faced his first pro career loss against Brandon Figueroa.
