Magnus White’s Cause Of Death Was Due To Accident
Magnus White was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was on a training ride near his home in Boulder, Colorado.
The accident occurred when a 23-year-old woman driving a Toyota Matrix hit him from behind at around 12:30 pm on Saturday.
The impact forced Magnus and his bike off the road, leading to a collision with a fence. Authorities from the Colorado State Patrol ruled out speed and alcohol as contributing factors to the crash.
On Sunday, USA Cycling issued a statement confirming Magnus White’s passing.
He was a rising star in multiple cycling disciplines, achieving victory in the Junior 17-18 Cyclocross National Championships in 2021 and securing a spot on the US national team.
This accomplishment was a pivotal moment for him, opening doors to race in Europe.
Magnus continued his success, participating in a full season of European Cyclocross racing with the USA Cycling National Team and concluding the year at the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championship in Arkansas.
He was also selected to represent the US at the cyclocross worlds in the Netherlands and earned a place on the Mountain Bike World Championships team for the summer.
During this season, Magnus White had started exploring road cycling and mountain biking in addition to his cyclocross pursuits.
