Soccer Player Mallory Swanson Athleticism Is Inherited by Her Parent, Horace and Karen Pugh!

This article was last updated by on

Mallory Swanson, an American professional soccer player, probably got into sports because of her parents, who were involved in various sports during their high school and college years.

Mallory Pugh Swanson, aka Mallory Swanson, was born on April 29, 1998, in Littleton, Colorado, U.S., to American parents Horace Pugh and Karen Pugh.

Her father, Horace Pugh, of African-American ethnicity, played football for a long time and was a professional Olympic-style events player. Although he had played football throughout childhood, he also ran track in adulthood.

Similarly, her mother, Karen Pugh, was a professional marathon runner. However, both couples ended their sports careers long ago to focus on family.

Horace Pugh now works as a Business Development Manager at Caretaker Landscape and Tree Management, while his wife Karen Pugh became a full-time housewife after their marriage.

Soccer Player Mallory Swanson Is Continuing Her Parent’s Dream of Becoming a Renowned Athlete!

Although Horace and Karen Pugh couldn’t continue their sports dreams, they passed their athleticism to their two daughters, Mallory Pugh and Brianna Pugh.

Both their children, Mallory and Brianna, got into sports at an early age, and their parents also used to play with them.

According to some interviews, Mallory Swanson started playing soccer at four, when she considered her older sister Brianna a role model. She also confirmed that her elder sister was the reason she got into soccer.

Brianna Pugh previously played as a professional soccer player at the University of Oregon Athletics from freshman 2011 to senior year 2014.

Similarly, during her high school career at Mountain Vista High School, she ranked as the No. 14 recruit in the Rocky Mountain Region.

However, like her parents, Brianna quit her football career after tying the knot with her husband, Jace Peterson, 31, a renowned American baseball player.

Brianna, now a mother of two daughters, Marley and Maya, works as a brand strategist at Modern Reel.

However, unlike her parents and sisters, Mallory Swanson continued her football career and has become one of the most valuable players.

She currently plays forward for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division in women’s professional soccer in the USA, and the USWNT (United States Women’s National Soccer Team).
