The wife of Knights Star Shea Theodore, Mariana Alston, is a Canadian who went to UBC Okanagan in British Columbia.

Shea Theodore, born on August 3, 1995, is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays as a defenseman for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League.

Theodore was selected in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft as the 26th overall pick by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round.

He started playing minor hockey with the Aldergrove Minor Hockey Association and was drafted by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the third round of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

Theodore made his NHL debut with Anaheim Ducks and later was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Shea has also represented his country with the U18 and senior team at various international tournaments.

Theodore was a gold medalist at the 2013 IIHF World U18 Championship and the 2015 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship.

He also won a silver medal at the 2019 IIHF World Championship.

Mariana went to West Island College and later enrolled at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna, British Columbia; from there, she graduated on June 10, 2017.

Shea Theodore has been open about his experience with testicular cancer during the offseason.

He also wrote in an essay for The Player’s Tribune about his cancer and said that he only knew about it after playing with Team Canada for the IIHF World Championship.

While he was preparing for the tough competition in the tournament, he was diagnosed with cancer.

During the blood test, his blood test resulted in high levels of the hormone hCG.

Despite the health issue, the defenseman played for Canada and finished the game with a silver medal. Theodore posted 2 goals and 7 points in 10 games in the tournament.

He underwent surgery to have a five-millimeter by five-millimeter mass removed from his testicle.

Eventually, after his successful surgery and early recovery, the defenseman was traded from the Anaheim Ducks to the Golden Knights.

After that, the player was invited to the ceremonial puck drop on November 21, 2019, during the Golden Knights home game.

Moreover, his grandmother, Darlington, was also diagnosed with breast cancer and treated at a specialized cancer center.

Shea wants to raise awareness among the people about early detention and the test and recommends that they talk to the doctor if they notice any changes in their bodies.
