Late NFL player Pat Tillman’s wife, Marie, has now embraced a new chapter of love through remarriage after years of grieving for the tragic loss of her ex-husband.

The late Arizona Cardinals player Pat Tillman had retired from football and enlisted in the United States Army in May 2002.

Unfortunately, after his deployment to Afghanistan, Pat was reported to have passed away by friendly fire by the U.S. Congress on April 22, 2004.

Pat’s wife, Marie, faced an irreparable loss and spent several years grieving following the tragic incident.

However, years after Pat Tillman’s passing, Marie has found healing through remarriage and dedicating herself to charitable work in honor of her late husband.

Following Pat Tillman’s Passing, Marie Found Love Again After Several Years of Struggling to Move On!

Pat Tillman had first crossed paths with Marie in high school, after which they dated for a significant period before marrying.

The NFL player tied the knot with his high school sweetheart, Marie on May 4, 2002, around the time Tillman had left his sports career.

However, the tragic loss of her husband left Marie navigating life alone for years. The couple had even put off having kids after planning to start a family when he was done serving in the military.

Tillman’s sudden death shattered their plans of starting a family and the future they had envisioned together.

Following the incident, Marie started the Pat Tillman Foundation in her late husband’s name to aid veterans, active servicemen, and their families.

To this day, she remains actively involved as a board member in the foundation to update on their missions, goals, and activities.

In her first TV appearance on The Ellen Show in 2023, she was vocal about her relationship with Matt and the foundation.

Marie openly shared that she found it hard to move on and was not ready to find herself in a relationship after years. She said:

I felt a lot of guilt if I would go on a date, I wasn’t ready for years.

However, after yearsMarie finally found love again with Joe Shenton, an author, bank director, and divorced father of three.

Marie and Joe married in September 2011 and welcomed their first child, Mac Patrick, in January 2012. She even shared the happy news on Twitter.

Over the years, Marie turned her grief into strength and dedicated herself to helping others who have suffered similar tragedies.

Her dedication to giving back to the community and continued involvement with the foundation is truly admirable, even after all these years.
