Maryanne Hinault was born to her parents, Sebastien and Laurence Hinault, in Saint-Brieuc, France, on February 16, 2000.

She followed in her father’s footsteps and pursued a career in cycling.

Her father, Sebastien, is a former professional road racing cyclist. He competed in seventeen Grand Tours between 1997 and 2014.

Having someone in the family with experience in cycling, Maryanne didn’t have to look far for inspiration.

Maryanne Hinault is a member of the Arkea Pro Cycling team who turned professional with Arkea Pro Cycling in 2022.

As a child, she was into rollerblading, and by 15, Maryanne started showing her interest in cycling.

The cyclist has shown her skills and competitive spirit as a part of the Arkea Pro Cycling Team in several important competitions, earning the admiration of both fans and her rivals.

Moreover, she won the French Champion of the American after returning from a brief hiatus to complete her studies. 

Who Are Maryanne Hinault Parents?

Maryanne was born as the daughter of Sebastien and Laurence Hinault. Her father, Sebastien Hinault, was also a professional road racing cyclist.

Throughout his professional career from 1997 to 2014, he took part in seventeen Grand Tours.

He made his Tour de France debut in 1997 with the French team GAN, later renamed Crédit Agricole.

Moreover, Sebastien joined Ag2r-La Mondiale in 2008 after Crédit Agricole disbanded. At the end of the 2012 season, the former cyclist transferred to the new IAM Cycling team for the 2013 campaign.

During his career, he has won various titles, including Tour du Limousin (2008) and Boucles de l’Aulne (2012).

In October 2014, he was announced as a directeur sportif for the Bretagne-Seche environment team for the year 2015.

At present, Sebastien is working as a director sportif for the UCI Pro Team Arkea-Samsic.

However, there is not much information about her mother, Laurence.

Despite the fact that her husband and daughter are public figures and have lots of admirers, Laurence does not seem to like public attention.

Nonetheless, the mother cheers and supports her and always believed in her daughter that she would become a great cyclist like Sebastien.

Henceforth, both of her parents are proud of her and encourage her to move forward. They had always been there for her whenever she was feeling low.

Is Bernard Hinault Related To Sebastien?

As Bernard and Sebastian have the same last name and both are French nationals, most people assume they are related.

However, they are not related except for the fact that they share the same last name, are from France, and share the same passion for cycling.

Bernard Hinault is a French cyclist who has won the Tour de France five times.

Additionally, he is one of just seven cyclists to have won the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta a Espana.

Similarly, he is one of only two cyclists to have won every Grand Tour twice.

On a personal note, Bernard married Martine, and they birthed two sons, Mickael (b. 1975) and Alexandre (b. 1981).
