The Super Bowl Champion Matt Ulrich was a father of four kids: Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau.

Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 41 on November 8, 2023.

Matt Ulrich, born on December 30, 1981, was an American professional football player who served as an offensive guard for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL.

He enjoyed a two-season tenure with the Colts and won Super Bowl XLI with the team during their 2006 season.

Before playing professionally, he played football at Streamwood High School and later continued his collegiate football journey at Northwestern University.

Ulrich was the Northwestern University team captain in 2004. Furthermore, he was named National Strength and Conditioning All-American in 2004.

Off the field, he co-founded Dexa Fit and was director of operations at Winning Edge Athletics in Chicago.

Additionally, he served as a director with Profitable Ideas Exchange.

The late football player Matt Ulrich was married and a father of four boys.

He leaves behind his wife, Alison, and their four children, Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau.

In a heartfelt message on social media, Alison expressed her love and deep sorrow,

“Our beloved, one of a kind Matt has passed away and is in a better place. Matt, we love you so so much. You are profoundly missed. We all want you back for just one more day. One more hug. One more kiss. One more laugh. One more joke. One more wrestle with the boys. It seems impossible to do this life without you.”

As per her Facebook bio, Alison Ulrich works at Bozeman School District.

Fundraising Campaign

On Wednesday, a fundraising campaign to support the wife and four children of the late NFL player Matt Ulrich was initiated.

His friends and family have established the GiveSendGo campaign, and Alison, Matt’s wife, will receive the funds.

The campaign description states that in order to show support for his family, this GiveSendGo initiative has been created to encourage people to participate.

Tom McMakin, the CEO of Profitable Ideas Exchange, where Ulrich worked until his passing, has generously contributed $20,000.

Indianapolis Colts Owner Mourns Matt Ulrich’s Passing

Colts owner Jim Irsay shared his heartfelt sentiments on X (formerly Twitter):

“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich. Matt was with us only two seasons but left his mark on many. Great guy, I hear he was a great dad—and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his family. 🙏”

Ulrich once expressed that being a part of the Colts’ journey to Super Bowl victory was his proudest achievement beyond his family commitments.

In a 2019 interview with Montana Sports, he stated that winning the Super Bowl was one of the most cherished days in his life, apart from the birth of his four children and wedding.
