Matthew Slater’s wife, Shahrzad Ehdaivand, has raised four kids with the Patriots wide receiver. The football couple tied the knot in 2015 after dating for several years.
For Matthew and Shahrzad, Providence holds a special place in their hearts, and the two have shown it with their charitable work. The Slater Family Foundation even organized Community Jamboree in 2021.
With Matthew and Shahrzad keeping themselves away from social media, the NFL couple has kept their private lives under wraps. But in the past, we have seen Shahrzad in the stands rooting for her husband.
Recently, Slater was ruthless when it came to talking about his team. Since their legendary QB Tom Brady left, the Patriots have had a regular season record of 25-25, and according to Slater, the time for excuses is up.
Matthew Slater Wife, Shahrzad Ehdaivand
Matthew Slater’s wife, Shahrzad Ehdaivand, graduated from Hood College with a degree in Biochemistry in 2003. She then continued her career for several years in the medical field.
In 2004, Shahrzad earned a master’s from Dartmouth College with a degree in Public Health. Currently, serving as a pathologist in Providence, Rhode Island, Shahrzad received her MD from Brown Medical School.
Shahrzad has previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. In 2015, she worked for a year as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School.
After leaving her job at The Warren, Shahrzad joined LMK Clinical Research Consulting as a Senior Vice Presiden of Clinical Operations.
With her husband, Shahrzad plays a vital role in the Slater Family Foundation, serving as a Founder and Executive Director. Since joining Patriots in 2008, the wide receiver and his wife have been known for their community work and charity events in Providence.
In 2021, Shahrzad and Matthew hosted Community Jamboree at Dexter Training Ground. The Jamboree brought more than 40 community groups and vendors to provide families with access to needed services.
Matthew Slater And Wife Shahrzad Share Four Kids
Matthew Slater and his wife Shahrzad are parents to four kids, three boys and a girl. Jeremiah, Noah, and Micah are the couple’s three sons, and Hannah is their only daughter.
The couple tied the knot in 2015 and have since been an example of a perfect couple. The couple met when Shahrzad was a pathology resident at Brown University.
If there’s anyone the couple needs to thank, it is the former New England Patriots linebacker Gary Guyton. The former NFL player thought they would be a perfect match as both are nerdy, Christian, and the squarest people he knew.
On their blind date, the couple went to Cheesecake Factory in Providence Place Mall, and it was love at first sight.
In an interview, Matthew said Providence has a special place in his heart because he met his wife there, their first three children were born there, and they also attended church there.
During a conversation with The Athletic, Slater said Shahrzad has always been in charge of the family. He also admitted it’s tough for Shahrzad during football season as he isn’t there to drop off or pick up kids from school.
But Slater said his wife has always been supportive of his career. Slater said Shahrzad told him she doesn’t want him to look back in five years and say he wished he played another year.
The wide receiver said that the supportive nature of his wife gave him peace of mind and a reason to continue wearing the famous blue and white color.
