Maurice Edu is an American former professional soccer player who currently works as a TV analyst.
Born on April 18, 1986, Edu attended the University of Maryland and played soccer for the college team from 2004 to 2006.
Later he played three years for the Maryland Terrapins and won the NCAA College Cup national championship.
The California native declared his name for the MLS SuperDraft as a Generation Adidas player, forgoing his final year of college eligibility.
His professional soccer career started after Toronto selected Edu as the first overall pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft.
Later, he went on to play for teams like Toronto FC, Rangers, Stoke City, and Philadelphia Union.
Besides, he also represented US national soccer team at U23 and senior level.

Their relationship dates back to 2015, and after dating for about four years, Maurice and Michelle were blessed with their first child, Bryson Maurice Edu, on August 29, 2019.
The former soccer player announced the news via Instagram and expressed his joy to the world. He referred to his son as his greatest gift and blessing.
Additionally, he acknowledged that the birth of his son has changed his life for the better.
The family of three was joined by a new member, another son, Rome Carter Edu, in June 2022.
With the birth of his second son, his elder son got a little brother and a life-long friend.
Currently, Maurice is busy with his TV analyst job, however, he still manages to make time for his wife and kids.
