As Washington, D.C., faces a sharp drop in temperatures, Howard Kurtz, host of Media Buzz on Fox News Channel, is bravely battling a severe case of pneumonia.

He left this message on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), that he has decided to return to his regular programming as quickly as possible.

He thanked his viewers in his message for the love and support and told them that he is doing his best to recover and get back to his work in reporting and media analysis.

Kurtz resides in Washington, D.C., where the winters are freezing.

Compared to many recent years, this season has been wintry, with colder-than-normal temperatures and enduring snow cover for much of January.

The harsh weather may have led to his illnesses.

Despite his battle with pneumonia, he remains committed to returning to Media Buzz, which airs on Sundays, and restarting his podcast.

He was last seen on January 9, 2025.

Upon hearing the news, his fans and viewers of Fox News Channel expressed their wishes for his swift recovery and urged him to take care of his health.

Many also offered remedies to help cure pneumonia, showing concern for the beloved television host.

Howard’s Dedication To Returning To Work Despite Health Issues Shows His Love For His Job

Kurtz, a journalist with over three decades of experience, has been with Fox News since 2013.

Before Fox News, he was The Washington Post‘s media writer and Washington bureau chief for The Daily Beast.

He spent two decades at The Washington Post, covering all aspects of media reporting. Additionally, he was a media analyst at CNN from 1992 to 2013.

Born on August 1, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, Kurtz received his bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and then earned a degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Early in his career, he held stints at The Record in New Jersey and as a reporter for syndicated columnist Jack Anderson.

He worked at The Washington Star as well until its demise in 1981.

At 71, Kurtz shows his enthusiasm for media criticism and journalism.

He is ready to return to work even when he is not in good health, showing interest in the job.

His program, Media Buzz, analyzes the impact of the media on the public mentality and criticizes news media.
