Meet Jakorian Bennett Parents And the Support System Behind The NFL Cornerback

Before Jakorian Bennett became one of the fastest cornerbacks in the NFL, he was just a determined kid from Alabama raised by parents who never let him quit.

Jakorian Bennett’s parents have played a quiet but meaningful role in his journey to the National Football League, though they are not together anymore.

While the young cornerback continued to rise in the ranks with the Las Vegas Raiders, he has now been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. His foundation begins with the family that supported him long before scouts and headlines ever noticed.

Who Are Jakorian Bennett’s Parents

Jakorian was born on August 23, 2000, in Mobile, Alabama. He is the son of Jennifer Bennett and Marieo Parrish.

His mother, Jennifer, has been his emotional anchor since day one. She was there during the long practices, the college transfer decisions, and the challenging moments when football felt uncertain. Her belief in him never wavered.

Jakorian has also acknowledged his father, Marieo, as a steady part of his life. Though he keeps a lower public profile, Marieo’s role as a father has not gone unnoticed.

Jakorian often speaks about the values he learned from both parents, including discipline, patience, and focus.

He is the eldest of four children. His siblings include Jamarieun Mitchell, Jayon, and Marley. Being the oldest brought responsibility, and Jakorian embraced it.

The NFL player often says that his siblings were one of his biggest motivations to push forward. He wanted to set an example and make his family proud, which shaped how he approached football and life.

Journey From College Football To NFL

After high school, Jakorian did not receive offers from top programs. Many would have given up, but he chose a different path.

He enrolled at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. There, he worked hard and began turning heads with his performance. He finished one of his best JUCO seasons with 25 total tackles, 4 interceptions, and 8 pass breakups.

His work paid off when he transferred to the University of Maryland, where he truly made a name for himself.

In the 2021 season, Jakorian led the Big Ten Conference with 16 pass breakups. He became known for his speed and sharp instincts on the field.

His breakout moment came when the Las Vegas Raiders drafted him in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

As a rookie, he contributed key tackles and showed strong promise as part of the Raiders’ secondary. Through it all, Jakorian has remained grounded. His parents’ guidance, sacrifices, and support have been part of every step he has taken.
