Penny Hardaway, a four-time NBA All-Star, played 14 seasons in the league after being drafted third overall in 1993.

He began his career with the Orlando Magic following a draft-night trade from the Golden State Warriors.

Hardaway earned All-NBA First Team honors twice and led the Magic to the 1995 NBA Finals alongside Shaquille O’Neal.

Injuries began affecting Penny Hardaway’s career in 1997, but he continued to contribute as a key player.

He played for the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat before retiring in 2007.

Under his leadership, the team won the AAC Tournament and an NIT championship.

Penny Hardaway’s Wife, Mary McDonnell, Is A Private Person Who Stays Out Of The Spotlight

Penny Hardaway, the former NBA star and current head coach of the Memphis Tigers, is married to Mary McDonnell.

She leads a private life, avoiding social media and staying out of the public eye.

Little is known about Mary’s background or professional endeavors as she chooses to maintain a low profile, focusing on her family.

Hardaway’s wife, Mary McDonnell, is often confused with the Academy Award-nominated actress Mary McDonell as they share the same name but are not the same person.

Hardaway has four children: daughters LaTanfernee and Layla with his high school girlfriend, Latarsha McCray.

His sons, Jayden and Ashton, were born from his relationships with Nikki Ward and Dionne.

While Penny’s daughters maintain a private life, his sons have followed in his footsteps, pursuing basketball careers.

Jayden plays under his father’s guidance at Memphis, while Ashton recently transferred to Saint Mary’s Gaels.

Coach Penny Hardaway Praises Clemson Tigers After Overtime Victory

Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway recently praised the Clemson Tigers after his team defeated them in an overtime thriller.

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with Memphis initially jumping to an 8-0 lead before Clemson mounted a comeback.

The loss marked Clemson’s second of the season and their first at home.

Hardaway recognized the strong performance of Clemson’s big men, Viktor Lakhin and Ian Schieffelin, with Lakhin scoring 23 points.

He also acknowledged the Tigers’ defense, successfully limiting Memphis guard PJ Haggerty to just 12 points on 3-for-10 shooting.

However, despite the strong defensive effort on Haggerty, it was Memphis’ other guards, Tyrese Hunter and Colby Rogers, who stepped up, combining for 45 points, to lead the team to victory.

Hardaway praised Clemson’s defense, especially their ability to rotate and close out on shooters, making it difficult for his team to score efficiently.

He highlighted how tough it was to play against Clemson’s bigs, recalling the challenges they presented in a previous matchup the year before.

The win improved Memphis‘ strong early-season record, showcasing their ability to compete against top-tier teams.
