Texas Longhorns softball third baseman Mia Scott is excelling in her college athletic career, winning the hearts of many and making her parents proud of her achievements at such a young age.
Despite playing with a torn ACL, Mia Scott is having an incredible senior season for the Texas Longhorns, leading her team to back-to-back victories.
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, during Game 1 of the Women’s College World Series, Scott led her team to a 2-1 win over Texas Tech. She scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning, reaching base safely on an infield single.
‘She has been an absolute star, probably the MVP defensively at the World Series. She’s doing all of this with a torn ACL,’ ESPN broadcaster Holly Rowe reported.
Although Rowe didn’t reveal when or how Scott sustained the injury, she did mention that Scott has been playing with a brace on her right knee under her uniform.
Scott, who has not given any interviews during her four years with the Longhorns, has kept quiet about her injury. However, with the WCWS in full swing, it seems she’s determined to play through the pain to help lead her team to victory.
In addition to her heroic efforts on the field, Scott has recorded the most hits, the highest batting average, and the highest on-base percentage of her career this season.
In May, she stunned fans by playing all nine defensive positions in a game against Kentucky, including pitcher.
