Six years after the birth of their first son, Jaxin, Jai and Kori’s family grew once more with the arrival of their second son, Kalib, in 2024.

Jai Lucas has recently been announced as the new head coach of the Miami Hurricanes men’s basketball team.

Before taking on this role, Lucas had an impressive coaching career at several top programs.

He started as an assistant coach at Texas, then moved to Kentucky in 2020, where he joined John Calipari’s staff.

In 2022, he joined Duke as an assistant coach under Jon Scheyer and was later promoted to associate head coach.

As a player, Lucas was a point guard at Florida and Texas, and he had a brief professional career before transitioning to coaching.

Jai Lucas And His Wife, Kori, Became Parents After a Year Of Wedded Bliss!

Jai Lucas and his wife, Kori, first crossed paths as students at the University of Texas.

During that time, Kori played softball for the Longhorns, while Jai played basketball for the Horns.

They had their first date at Outback Steakhouse and continued to see each other, growing closer and closer.

Jai proposed to Kori at the Navy Pier in Chicago, and she accepted with a happy heart.

The beautiful pair tied the knot on August 5, 2017, in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their family and friends at Vista West Ranch in Texas.

After a year of marriage, Jai Lucas and his wife, Jaxin Powell, welcomed their son, Jaxin, on May 2, 2018.

Jai shared the joyful news on Instagram with heartfelt photos of their newborn. His well-wishers and family members poured in with congratulatory messages.

As of 2025, his son Jaxin is six years old and attending kindergarten.

Likewise, the couple celebrated the birth of their second son, Kalib (Caleb) Scott, on July 28, 2024. Jai once again shared the happy news with his Instagram followers.

Based on his Instagram posts, Xavier is likely in his mid-teens and attending high school.

Moreover, he is active on Instagram, where he frequently shares joyful updates about his family.

He often posts about significant moments, including the birthdays of his children, anniversaries, achievements, and so on.

While Kori maintains a private Instagram account and keeps her personal life under wraps, she has supported Jai’s career and manages their family.

She is often seen attending Jai’s games and events.
