Dave Bautista is a former professional wrestler and current American actor. He was born on January 18, 1969, in Washington, D.C., to his parents, Donna Raye and David Michael Bautista Sr. 

Before pursuing a career in professional wrestling, Dave worked as a nightclub bouncer and lifeguard.

However, he was arrested after getting into a fight and injuring two people, and he was sentenced to one year of probation after the trial.

Eventually, he decided to become a wrestler after feeling ashamed for asking a coworker for money to buy Christmas presents for his children.

The former wrestler started his wrestling journey in 1999 and joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) the following year.

He became famous under the ring name Batista and competed for the company until its renaming to WWE in 2002.

During his tenure with the WWE, he achieved worldwide recognition and won six world championships.

Moreover, he even became World Heavyweight Championship four times and the WWE Championship twice.

He also won the Royal Rumble match in 2005 and directed WrestleMania 21, which is considered one of the top five pay-per-view events in professional wrestling history.

The wrestler eventually left the company in 2010 but made a return in January 2014 in an episode of Raw.

Dave, alongside his wrestling career, begins acting in a movie Greg Glienna’s film ‘Relative Strangers’ (2006), an uncredited role.

Later, in 2010, he got his major role in the movie ‘Wrong Side of Town’ alongside Rob Van Dam, Marrese Crump, and Ja Rule.

Moreover,  he appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy, where he played the role of Drax the Destroyer in 2014.

Dave Bautista was cast as Mr. Hinx, a character in the 24th James Bond movie ‘Spectre,’ in October 2014.

The actor, throughout his acting career, appeared in several movies, including Blade Runner 2049 (2017), Army of the Dead (2021), and Dune (2021), Glass Onion: Knife Out Mystery (2022).

Since 2009, he has also appeared in several direct-to-video films.
