The nation’s No.1 recruit in the class of 2025, Bryce Underwood, has helped his parents, Jay and Beverly Underwood, receive new cars in part of his NIL deal. The young football star previously credited his parents’ upbringing for helping him achieve success.
Underwood, 17, from Detroit, Michigan, became a start at Belleville High School.
The 6’4 quarterback had a 38-game winning streak from week four of his freshman year into the state title game of his junior season.
As a senior in 2024, Underwood totaled 2,509 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and six interceptions, completing 71.8 percent of his passes.
247 Sports recently reported that the five-star recruit might start for the Wolverines immediately.
Wolverines lost their senior-year quarterback, Davis Warren, from an ACL in the bowl game, and Alex Orji transferred to UNLV.
Mikey Keene, the Fresno State transfer, is Underwood’s only competitor for the quarterback position.
Wolverines have a huge investment in Bryce, and he is the quarterback with the highest rating to commit to the program in nearly 20 years.
Though a few critics believe 247 Sports is underrating Keene’s ability, many already believe Underwood can be that guy from Day 1 for the Wolverines.
Bryce Underwood’s Parents, Jay and Beverly Underwood, Have Made Many Sacrifices!
In a 2024 interview, Bryce Underwood’s mother, Beverly Underwood, talked about family sacrifices to help Bryce achieve his dreams.
Beverly said her husband and Bryce’s father, Jay Underwood, deserve the ultimate praise for making Bryce the man and footballer he is today.
The mother-of-two said she had to take on certain jobs and leave certain jobs to be there for her family.
The family would push away their holidays and vacations so they could take Bryce to various football camps.
Beverly also said she and Jay paid special attention to Bryce’s academics and did not let him falter in that sector.
The attention to academics certainly paid off as Bryce graduated high school with a 3.2 GPA while being named the 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year.
Bryce’s dad, Jay Underwood, is a football coach at Belleville High School. He saw his son become the top prospect in the country.
In an interview with MLive, Jay said:
Man, I love to see it. I’m a coach on the staff, so I can see it on a everday basis, so when he achieves something, the achieve something. Like I said, it’s a team-basis. Everybody loves Bryce because Bryce shows love to everybody.

After his son was crowned Football Player of the Year by MLive in December 2023, Jay said he was over the moon about his son’s recognition.
Jay remarked that his son spends countless hours perfecting his game for his side. He added that Bryce tries to push himself and motivates himself and others around him to be great.
Jay and Beverly Underwood Receive New Cars!
Michigan Wolverines‘ new quarterback, Bryce Underwood, has reportedly received a four-year deal worth $10 million.
Sports Illustrated reported that the deal could make Bryce up to $12 million during his time in Ann Arbor.
The NIL deal included a partnership with Feldman Chevrolet of Highland. This deal has landed Bryce a 2025 Tahoe RST, and he isn’t the only one receiving a brand-new car.
The Instagram video posted by Feldman Chevrolet of Highland’s page shows Bryce receiving the keys to his new whip.
The quarterback is then seen filing the paperwork while sitting beside his mom.
Later in the video, it is revealed that Jay and Beverley also received brand-new cars. Jay, who seems natural in front of the camera, describes his new whip.
The football coach received a Chevrolet Silverado High Country. Beverly didn’t talk about the car she received in the video.
The interviewer then asked the Underwood family the first song they would listen to in their new cars.
The young Underwood said he would play Controversy 2 by Skilla as the first song in his brand-new car. His dad mentioned Sada Baby‘s Ghetto Champagne.
In the end, Beverly gave a special shoutout to the 90s R&B group Xscape.
