Michael Elko, born July 28, 1977, is an American college football head coach at Duke University.
Raised in South Brunswick, Elko completed high school in 1995 at South Brunswick HS. During high school, he played baseball, basketball, and football as a quarterback.
Later, the South Brunswick Athletic Hall of Fame played for the Penn Quakers football team and won the Ivy League championship in 1998.
Following his collegiate years, he started as a graduate assistant at Stony Brook Seawolves football, and in the next season, he joined his alma mater as a defensive back coach.
Later, the 2022 ACC Coach of the Year served as a defensive coordinator and defensive back coach at several top institutions, including Fordham, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M.
Moreover, he joined Duke as the head coach in 2022, and in July 2023, Elko signed a contract extension, keeping him through the 2029 season.

Michael was born as the eldest son of Mike and Michelle Elko on April 16, 2004.
He attended College Station High School when his father was defensive coordinator at Texas A&M and played baseball for the Cougars.
He graduated high school in 2022 and committed to play baseball for the Northwestern Wildcats baseball.
However, after the freshman season, the infielder entered into the transfer portal and signed to play for the Richmond Spiders.
Andrew Elko Plays Hockey
Mike and Michelle’s second child, Andrew Elko, is a high school athlete. He is a member of the varsity hockey team at Apex Friendship High School.
He also played with the Carolina Hurricane Youth Hockey team and won the CCM Dallas in December 2022.
Still in his teens, Andrew is showing some promising skills, and it won’t be long till we see this player in the NHL.
Moreover, Elko is in a relationship with Maddie Trahan, a high school volleyball player. She plays volleyball at Carolina Advantage Volleyball.
