Millbrook High School Baseball Star Devin Reid Makes Parents David and Jodee Proud With His Rising Sports Career

Devin Reid, an 18-year-old talented multi-sport athlete and senior at Millbrook High School, is making his parents proud of his rising sports career.

The Winchester, Virginia, native Devin Reid has steadily made a name for himself in both baseball and basketball.

In baseball, the 6’3”, 155-pound left-handed pitcher and hitter has demonstrated impressive skills.

Similarly, as part of the Richmond Braves’ 2025 Platinum travel team, he has participated in top-tier tournaments, including the DC Summer Championships, Mid-Atlantic Summer Championships, PBT Mid-Atlantic Open, and the 16U National Championship.

Devin’s fastball velocity has topped out at 79 mph with a typical range between 75-78 mph, while his off-speed pitches include a curveball in the 62-66 mph range and a slider between 67-70 mph.

In addition to baseball, Devin also played baseball during his freshman year at Millbrook High, leading his team in several victories.

He contributed to teams that posted strong records, including a standout 21–4 season in 2021 with a 15–1 regional record and a #42 state ranking.

Throughout his exceptional and emerging sports journey, Devin Reid’s parents, David and Jodee Reid, have played a significant role in guiding and supporting him in pursuing his athletic career.

Devin Reid’s Father, David, Served In The U.S. Army And Comes From An Athletic Family

While not much is known about Devin Reid’s father, David’s current professional life, his Facebook profile displays that he served in the U.S. Army.

Devin Reid’s father also played baseball in his high school and college, and his Facebook profile displays that he coached for several high school baseball teams. However, very little information about his coaching journey is available.

Furthermore, David was born to his father, David Lee Reid Sr., who passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 71. Details about his mother are not available.

David’s father, David Lee Reid Sr., worked as a forklift operator for O’Sullivan Company, as well as for National Fruit in Winchester, and was employed in the Environmental Services Department at Valley Health in Winchester before his passing.

Furthermore, Devin Reid followed in his late grandfather David Sr.’s footsteps in sports, who played softball and baseball.

David Sr. was a member of the Winchester Eagles and a former member of the Winchester Weightlifting Association.

He also played for the Frederick County Parks and Rec Adult Softball Leagues.

Devin Reid’s mother, Jodee Reid, pursued her career as a teacher

Jodee Mayes Reid is not just an amazing mother to Devin Reid, but also an amazing teacher who worked as a substitute teacher for Frederick County Public Schools for several years.

Earning hr associate’s degree in fashion merchandising from Shepherd University, Jodee Reid began her career as a clerk in the United States Postal Service in 1999 and served in that position for six years.

She further continued her career journey working as an instructional Aide at Frederick County Public Schools before becoming a teacher.

However, not much is known about her current profession, and it is unclear if she is pursuing her career as a teacher.

Regarding Jodee Ried’s family, she was born to her father, Charles L. Mayes, and her mother, Judy Tomblin, of Winchester, Virginia.

Her father, Charles Lawrence Mayes, who worked in quality control for Rubbermaid for 27 years, passed away on April 3, 2022, at the age of 75.

Jodee’s father also worked as an engineer for Melnor for 26 years and loved his grandchildren.
