Following his divorce from his second wife, Judy, Bob Uecker didn’t remarry. The professional baseball player turned broadcaster remained unmarried at the time of his demise.
Bob Uecker, widely known as “Mr. Baseball,” who entertained fans as a Major League Baseball player, a broadcaster, and a comedic actor, passed away on January 16, 2025, at 90.
Mr. Baseball succumbed to small-cell lung cancer, a battle he had been privately fighting since early 2023.
His family and the Milwaukee Brewers announced his demise by releasing a statement on social media. In the statement, they expressed their heartbreak, writing,
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Bob. To many, he was an announcer and entertainer whose humor and voice transcended the game, but to us he was so much more.
He had a praiseworthy career spanning over six decades, beginning as a backup catcher in Major League Baseball and later transitioning to a legendary broadcasting career.
Uecker joined the Brewers‘ broadcast team in 1971 and became a figure in Milwaukee. It was his humor that drew constant attention from fans, earning him widespread recognition.
Unlike his professional life, which was like an open book, his personal life remained lowkey away from the media, which included two significant relationships with his former wives, Joyce and Judy.
Bob Uecker Didn’t Remarry After Divorcing His Wives, Joyce and Judy!
Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker was married twice; he married his first wife, Joyce, in 1956. They were parents to four children: Leann, Steve, Sue Ann, and Bob Jr.
Although Joyce maintained a low-key life away from scrutiny, she played her part well as his wife during the initial days of his career.

After almost two decades of seemingly sound marital life, Uecker and Joyce divorced in 1975. Nonetheless, the prime reason behind their failed married life remains unknown.
Despite the separation, they maintained a connection through their shared family. Unfortunately, Joyce died in 2015, 40 years after their separation.
Shortly after his divorce from Joyce, Uekcer crossed paths with Judy in the mid-1970s.
They were introduced by mutual friends, not knowing Judy would be his future wife. In nearly no time, they hit it off, given their shared interests and mutual support.

Uecker and Judy married in 1976 and were together for 25 years before divorcing in 2001. However, Judy remained close to the Milwaukee broadcaster even after their divorce and was with him during his final days.
Two of Bob Uecker’s Four Children Passed Away Before Him!
Despite marrying twice, the late broadcaster Bob Uecker had four children, all with only his first wife, Joyce.
However, their first child, daughter Leann Uecker Ziemer, born in 1957, passed away in 2022 after battling ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
Likewise, their son, Steve Uecker, born in 1958, succumbed to the complications of San Joaquin Valley Fever in 2012.
The remaining two children, daughter Sue Ann Uecker and son Bob Uecker Jr. are still alive and were present during Uecker’s last days.
