Jaden McDaniels and Allison Audrey announce their growing family as they mark new milestones.

Jaden McDaniels has established himself as one of the NBA’s premier defensive talents since entering the league in 2020.

The Minnesota Timberwolves forward built his reputation through dominant high school performances at Federal Way High School in Washington, where he earned McDonald’s All-American honors and Washington Gatorade Player of the Year recognition.

After a stellar freshman season at the University of Washington, the Los Angeles Lakers selected McDaniels 28th overall in the 2020 NBA draft before trading him to Minnesota.

The young star has flourished with the Timberwolves, signing a five-year, $136 million contract extension in October 2023.

His defensive prowess earned him a spot on the 2023-2024 NBA All-Defensive Second Team, while his offensive game continues to evolve.

During the 2024-25 season, McDaniels achieved a career-high 30 points against Portland and started all 82 games, averaging 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

The 6’9″ forward has become an integral piece of Minnesota’s championship aspirations, combining elite defense with steadily improving offensive contributions.

From First Baby to Big Brother Announcement, Jaden McDaniels Joyfully Expands His Family

Jaden McDaniels embraced fatherhood when his girlfriend, Allison Audrey, gave birth to their son, Mekhi Lee, on July 1, 2024.

The couple welcomed their first child during a significant period in McDaniels’ career, as the Timberwolves pushed deep into the NBA playoffs that spring.

Audrey openly shared her pregnancy journey with fans throughout 2024, posting updates on social media that gave followers glimpses into their growing family.

In May 2024, Audrey celebrated a successful baby shower, expressing gratitude to everyone who attended the special event.

Baby shower was a success!!! I was convinced to have one and so happy I did because it was amazing 💫 appreciate everyone who came out, recap video coming soon,” she wrote.

Throughout the pregnancy, Audrey supported McDaniels from the stands during playoff games while documenting her experiences.

She posted about enjoying her final weeks with her baby bump and looking forward to returning to the gym after delivery.

McDaniels and Audrey marked Mekhi’s first birthday on July 1, 2025, with a heartfelt tribute.

“You are everything I ever wanted from a son and more. Thank you for all the moments and unforgettable memories you provided us with in only your first year of life,” they shared. The proud parents expressed their commitment to their son, writing, “Know mom and dada will forever be here for you. Happy 1st birthday, doodie 🤍 We love you more than you’ll ever know and we are so proud to be your parents!! Keep thriving, you will be a star💫”

The McDaniels household celebrates another joyous milestone as the family prepares to grow.

On July 26, 2025, Allison Audrey announced exciting news through Instagram, revealing that Mekhi would soon become a big brother.

Mekhi is being promoted to big brother! October 2025 🤍,” she shared with fans.

The announcement confirms that McDaniels and Audrey expect their second child to arrive in October 2025, making Mekhi just 15 months old when his sibling joins the family.

Since the pregnancy announcement, the couple has maintained relative privacy, with no further updates shared publicly.

This approach contrasts with Audrey’s openness during her first pregnancy, though the couple appears focused on preparing their growing family for the new arrival while McDaniels continues his demanding NBA schedule.
