Assistant coach Micah Nori has been happily married to his wife, Melissa Magnone Nori, who has had a dynamic and impactful career in education and wellness.
Originally from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Melissa Magnone Nori is a fitness enthusiast and group fitness instructor at Novi Lifetime Fitness.
Likewise, she operates as a Zumba instructor at Dearborn Dance Academy and a Group Fitness Instructor at Bodies By Wade.
Apart from her fitness career, Melissa also works as a fashion consultant at Cabi.
Not to forget, Melissa also worked as a teacher in the past. She is a former grade 3 teacher at Crestwood Elementary.
She was also a third-grade teacher at Westview Elementary School in Warren Woods Public Schools.
During her time in Toronto, while her husband Micah was coaching with the Raptors, she created a unique Sunday school program for the children of American NBA players and staff.
One of Melissa’s most memorable roles was teaching Steph and Seth Curry when they were kids, an experience she jokingly calls her “claim to fame.”
She said:
I taught Seth and Steph U.S. history when they were little. … That’s my claim to fame. My own kids never really believed me.

She made learning fun by incorporating basketball-themed games, like shooting paper balls into trash cans for points, which resonated with the Curry brothers.
Above all, Melissa’s goal was to help them stay aligned with the U.S. curriculum while living in Canada, focusing on subjects like U.S. history and geography that weren’t covered in Canadian schools.
Speaking of her academics, Melissa studied elementary education at Wayne State University and went to Cabrini High School.

While the exact timeline of their relationship hasn’t been publicly confirmed, it appears that Micah and Melissa began dating in the late 1990s, around the time Micah launched his coaching career in 1998.
Later, Micah Nori and Melissa tied the knot on August 10, 2002. On their 17th wedding anniversary, Melissa shared their wedding picture and wrote:

The married couple of 23 years has created a tight-knit family of four comprising two children.
After two years of marriage, Melissa and Micah experienced parenthood for the first time with the arrival of their son, Dante, who was born on October 7, 2004.
Their son Dante has followed in his footsteps, becoming a talented baseball player.
A senior outfielder at Northville High School in Michigan, Dante was ranked 49th among MLB.com’s top draft prospects in 2024.
In 2024, he was a top high school prospect in Michigan and was picked in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies, a proud moment for the family.
Dante had also committed to Mississippi State University, showing his options as a top athlete, but chose to go pro.
Micah, a former baseball player himself, is nothing but proud of Dante’s success. He has spoken about Dante’s baseball talent, connecting it to his own love for the sport during his time at Indiana University.
Unlike Dante, very little is known about his daughter Mia Nori. She had her homecoming during her sophomore year at North Ville High School in 2023. Mia is a part of Dearborn Dance Academy.
