Kevin O’Connell, the former NFL quarterback and current head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, has been happily married to his longtime love, Leah O’Connell.
The couple’s story began during their college years and has since blossomed into a strong marriage and a loving family.
Kevin and Leah first met while attending San Diego State University. At the time, Leah was a freshman, and Kevin was a redshirt sophomore.
Their friendship soon developed into something more, and by the time Leah was a sophomore entering her junior year and Kevin was a senior, they began dating officially.
After several years of building their bond, the couple tied the knot in 2010.
Over the years, Leah has been a pillar of strength and support for Kevin, both personally and professionally. In December 2022, she shared heartfelt words about her husband, saying:
From the day I met him, there’s many wonderful words that I would use to describe him. He’s kind, he’s humble, he’s respectful, he’s consistent, he’s selfless. All these amazing and tangible qualities that you hope for in a husband and father and coach and anybody that’s going to be contributing to building up and encouraging other people.

Together, Kevin and Leah have been blessed with four children: two sons, Kaden and Kolten, and two daughters, Quinn and Callie.
Their youngest, Callie, arrived in November 2022, right in the middle of Kevin’s first season as head coach of the Vikings.
Kevin often expresses his gratitude for Leah’s unwavering support. In a lighthearted moment with ESPN, he even joked about their wedding day, saying:
I tried to use that clause to get out of dancing at my own wedding. It didn’t necessarily work, and I was able to make it through without any injury.

Now managing a household of six, Leah balances family life while supporting Kevin’s demanding coaching career.
The O’Connell family currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they moved after Kevin accepted the Vikings’ head coaching job in 2022.
