Monica Wright shares a deep love and passion for basketball with her equally exceptional basketball player and coach husband, Michael Rogers.

Two-time WNBA Champion Monica Wright recently made headlines after the Toronto Tempo appointed her as their inaugural general manager.

Toronto Tempo is set to begin play in the 2026 WNBA season after being officially announced as a WNBA expansion team in May 2024.

Monica Wright Married Michael Roger After Her Break Up With NBA Superstar Kevin Durant!

Michael Rogers is the beloved husband of former basketball player and coach Monica Wright.

There is scarce information about their relationship as Wright keeps her personal life discrete.

Similarly, her husband, Michael, has also largely stayed out of the spotlight, keeping a low profile.

While Rogers is present on social media, he has kept all of his accounts private. Initially, we discovered from his Instagram (mambamike24) bio that he hails from Jamaica.

Furthermore, Rogers played 4 years of Division 1 basketball at Valparaiso University, Indiana.

He played under Coach Homer Drew, one of the most successful coaches in NCAA history.

Rogers is also a professional basketball player in Europe and captain of the Jamaica national basketball team.

With ten years of coaching expertise, he excels in rebounding, post moves, shooting, passing, ball handling, agility, attacking the hoop, pick & roll, defense, footwork, and moving without the ball.

Besides that, Rogers graduated from Valparaiso University with a BA in sports management and leadership in 2011.

Moreover, he boasts an exceptional career portfolio. He was a Professional Basketball Player for Club Deportivo Estela, a basketball team based in Torrelavega, Cantabria, Spain.

Similarly, he played for the Champaign Swarm, a professional minor-league basketball team.

Rogers was also the director of basketball operations at Brookwood Camps. Then, in 2017, he played professionally for the San Antonio Seraphim.

From 2018 to 2019, he worked as an assistant basketball coach at St. George’s College, Jamaica.

Furthermore, he became the sports and social activities coordinator at the Bank of Jamaica.

After working as an access associate at UVA Health, Rogers began coaching at Success Academy Charter Schools.

Then, in 2022, he worked as a physical education teacher at BelovED Community Charter School

Currently, Rogers is the physical education teacher and basketball coach at The Academies of Math and Science.

Rogers’ glorious and illustrious basketball and coaching journey mirrors his wife, Monica’s WNBA career.

Hence, their shared passion for basketball brought them closer and is the foundation of their happy marriage. The basketball lover couple welcomed their son in 2020.

Although Monica was previously engaged to NBA superstar Kevin Durant in 2013, the two eventually ended their relationship.

While there are no concrete details about when Michael and Monica met, they married after her break up with Durant.
