The Kraken’s center has been playing professionally since 2018, and following in his footsteps, his brother currently plays for the Winnipeg Ice of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

After the 2022 NHL draft, many NHL fans are eager to know more about Morgan’s brother.

Brother Conor Geekie

Conor was born on May 5, 2004, in Strathclair, Manitoba, Canada. The Arizona Coyotes drafted him as the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry draft.

The Coyotes have been home to some elite players like Wayne Gretzky, Jeremy Roenick, Brett Hull, and Teemu Selanne.

The 22-year-old signed a 3-year deal with the Coyotes and is eager to make his NHL debut.

Before the draft, he was ranked No. 5 in NHL Central Scouting’s final ranking of North American skaters.

Geekie showed some promising skills with the Winnipeg Ice of the WHL. In the 2022-23 season, he notched 77 points in 66 games with 35 goals and 42 assists.

Family

Morgan was born to his parents, Craig and Tobi, on July 20, 1998, in Strathclair, Manitoba.

His father also played ice hockey for the Brandon Wheat Kings and Spokane Chiefs of the WHL. He turned to a coach and taught his elder two sons with the midget AAA Chiefs and later took over the bantam AA program.

Besides Conor, Morgan has another brother named Noah, who is 24 and plays baseball for the Okotoks Dawgs of the Western Canadian League (West Division).

Despite being drafted as the 41st overall pick in the 2015 WHL bantam draft by the Calgary Hitmen, he opted to pursue his career in baseball.

Morgan NHL Journey And Kraken’s Family

Morgan started his NHL journey after playing youth hockey with the Yellowhead Chiefs of the MMHL and the Tri-City Americans of the WHL.

He became one of the two players drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the third round of the 2017 NHL Entry draft.

Geekie signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Hurricanes and the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.

The professional ice hockey center agreed on a three-year/entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. He made his NHL debut on March 7, 2020.

Geekie inked a one-year contract extension on July 16, 2021, with the Hurricanes. However, he was selected by the Seattle Kraken at the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft.

The Kraken’s center agreed to a one-year/$1.4 million contract extension with the Seattle franchise on July 24, 2022.

With the Kraken in the 2022-23 regular season, he recorded 28 points in 69 games.

Morgan’s Wife

The professional ice hockey player is married to Emma Geekie. The pair tied the knot in August 2021 at Oakland Estate.

They are expecting their first child, which he announced via Instagram post. It is fascinating that the Kraken’s center met his wife when he was 6. They played hockey together till they were 12.

Despite hanging out together all the time, they did not go on their first date until December 2, 2013.

After dating for several years, Morgan popped up the question in the summer of 2020. Almost a year after their engagement, they shared the wedding vows with their friends and family.
