Adam Silver, an American lawyer and sports executive, is blessed with two kids with his wife, Maggie Grise.
Silver, born on April 25, 1962, in Rye, New York, began his career in law and politics, initially working as a legislative aide to U.S. Representative Les AuCoin from 1984 to 1985.
After earning his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1988, he served as a law clerk for Judge Kimba Wood in the Southern District of New York before joining the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore as an associate.
He entered the sports industry in 1992, joining the NBA. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become chief operating officer and deputy commissioner by 2006 under his mentor, David Stern.
Endorsed by Stern, Silver was unanimously approved by NBA owners to succeed Stern as commissioner on February 1, 2014.
In April 2014, he swiftly banned Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million for racist remarks, reinforcing the NBA’s dedication to social justice.
Later, in 2014, he advocated for the legalization and regulation of sports betting, pushing for transparency in a New York Times op-ed.
Silver, in October 2019, defended Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey’s right to free speech over a controversial Hong Kong support tweet, leading to global disputes.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he promptly halted the 2019-20 NBA season on March 11, 2020, and led the development of the NBA Bubble to continue and finish the season safely.

Adam Silver married his wife, Maggie Grise, in May 2015 in a private ceremony.
In an interview at the Time 100 Gala in April 2015, Silver expressed his feelings about being in love, saying,

She is also passionate about advocating for women’s rights and raising awareness of the environmental impacts of technological advancements.
Maggie is the sister of Maureen Grise, who is married to Canadian actor Tom Cavanagh, known for his roles in “Ed,” “Love Monkey,” and “Trust Me.”
During the pandemic, Adam shared a light-hearted moment, mentioning that Maggie became his barber,
Not as often as you might think. It doesn’t even grow that fast anymore, so my personal barber has been my wife these days. I’m not going to show you the some of the little marks on the back of my head — about once a week these days.

Two years after their wedding, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Louise Burns Silver, in 2017.
Her birth marked a joyous moment as they became parents for the first time.

This period allowed Adam to spend quality time with his family despite his otherwise busy schedule. Reflecting on this time, Silver said,
My wife and I had a child in the middle of this, in mid-May, a new daughter. And that’s the time of year where I would have been on the road. There’s no doubt I would have spent some time at home, but it probably wouldn’t have been more than a week in the middle of the playoffs. And so the fact that I’ve been around not just my newborn, but also my three-year-old daughter, and watching her develop over the last four months, having the opportunity to spend time with her every day, having her sort of sit on my lap for a lot of the Zoom calls, despite all the difficulties over this period, has been a real joy in my life.

In 2024, his daughters are aged 7 and 4, with a three-year gap between them.
Adam is deeply involved in their lives and is often seen attending events with his daughters.
