At 14, he moved to Biella, Italy, to attend high school and compete in youth leagues.
2016, he relocated to the United States to attend Montverde Academy in Florida.
There, he played alongside future NBA star RJ Barrett and was mentored by Georgian NBA veteran Zaza Pachulia.
After high school, Sandro committed to Seton Hall University over offers from prestigious programs like USC and Vanderbilt.
During his college career from 2017 to 2021, he became a standout player.
As a senior, he averaged 17.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, earning Big East Player of the Year honors.
The Indiana Pacers selected Sandro with the 54th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, but he was immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.
