Tyrese Haliburton, an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Indiana Pacers of the NBA, is making his parents proud of his achievements.

The Olympic gold medalist Haliburton was born February 29, 2000, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to parents John and Brenda Haliburton.

His parents, John and Brenda, instilled a passion for sports and supported Tyrese in pursuing a career in basketball.

Moreover, Tyrese Haliburton often talks about his father, John, and mother, Brenda, and credits them for his success.

Brenda and John also often express their love for their athlete son, Tyrese, and stand by his side as his constant supporters.

Brenda is his biggest fan and rarely misses any of his games; the only one she has missed was at Iowa State.

While very little information about Brenda Haliburton’s professional life is available, her Facebook page displays that she attended West High and is originally from Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Likewise, Haliburton emotionally talked about his mother, Brenda, after signing a five-year, $260 million contract extension with the Pacers during the 2023 offseason.

He stated that there are many people to be grateful for, but it would be wrong if he didn’t start with his mother, Brenda.

Tyrese further added,

“My mom has been my everything for me to get here. I can’t even put into words to explain everything but I’m just really appreciative of you, Mom, because of all the stuff of us growing up and pushing me to be where I am today and making sure I could get to every trip, making sure my teammates made it to every trip — it just means a lot to me so I love you and I’m really appreciative of you.”

Tyrese Haliburton Followed In His Father John’s Footsteps In Basketball!

The Indiana Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton inherited his basketball skills from his athlete father, John Haliburton.

John, also a native of Wisconsin, is a former basketball coach and a current referee.

When Tyrese was born, he was a women’s basketball coach, and he taught Tyrese basketball skills from a very young age.

In a press conference with the Indiana Pacers in 2023, Tyrese stated,

“My dad coached a girl’s basketball team when I was born and I meet these girls all the time. They’re like ‘Oh, I held you when you were a baby,They always say when I was barely old enough to crawl, my dad would make sure one half of the court was reserved for them and one half of the court was reserved for me.”

While Tyrese appeared with his father John Haliburton on Inside the NBA, the NBA star credited his father with introducing basketball to him.

Tyrese also revealed that his father constantly made him watch movies about five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson when he was growing up.

When asked about the dynamics of teaching Tyrese basketball, John explained that he didn’t have to push him much because Tyrese had an internal motivation; all John needed to do was provide guidance.

Although John’s basketball career duration is unknown, he remains connected to the sport by officiating games in Wisconsin.
