The school, once meant to protect, is now where children feel punished and unheard.

On September 17, 2025, Brad Trice took to Facebook to share a troubling experience involving his children at Neelyville School.

In his post, he questioned whether his anger was misplaced after the school allegedly tried to remove his son for expressing discomfort with a teacher.

Brad said the school treated his son unfairly, keeping him alone in the office crying until the end of the day.

Moreover, they refused to let his older brother take him home and only allowed him to leave when their mother came to the school.

This Isn’t a School, It’s a Prison: Parent Speaks Out After Son Quits Basketball

Brad described a series of incidents that led to his frustration in his post.

His son reportedly told school officials that a teacher made him hate school and feel uncomfortable.

However, instead of investigating the teacher’s behavior or offering support, the school responded by labeling the boy as “unsafe to attend.”

Due to this, the school punished his son by isolating him in the office until the end of the day.

When Brad’s older son arrived to pick him up, staff allegedly refused to release the younger child, forcing their mother to intervene.

Additionally, Brad mentioned another incident, saying:

then last week one of my kids passed out while running and then the nurse or nobody had the audacity to call and let us know my kid had to tell me once agin after not getting home to late.

Furthermore, he added that his oldest son had to quit basketball due to constant harassment from the school staff.

He explained that the pressure and mistreatment became so overwhelming that his son no longer felt comfortable continuing with the sport he loved.

Many people commented on Brad’s post, sharing similar experiences.

One person said kids in Missouri can switch schools if they can travel, and suggested Bluff as an option.

Another parent said their daughter had so many issues at Neelyville, further saying:

I had to involve an attorney to get them to leave her the fk alone. She was to the point of wanting to self-harm due to her teacher.

Likewise, another parent shared a similar story relating to their child, saying:

Sounds like Neelyville. I’ve had problems with my oldest with being bullied and principal to counselor to coaches wasn’t doing a damn thing. I got a lawyer that everyone is using. You would be surprised at the lawsuits against Neelyville school rg now. They should not left your son in there all day they should had called yal to pick him up.

Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and protected at school.
