The 45-year-old GM is under fire after Sunday’s humiliating loss.

Joe Schoen, the general manager of the New York Giants, is trending after significant backlash from fans and issues within the team.

Giants fans are calling for his dismissal after the Giants’ humiliating 7-30 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Rumors of an impending sack were further fueled after Saquon Barkley, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, made an impressive 70-yard touchdown run against the Los Angeles Rams, highlighting the frustration that Schoen did not offer Barkley a new contract.

Additionally, there are reports of Schoen being unpopular in the Giants’ locker room, with tensions rising between the players and the management.

With this resurfaced interest in Joe Schoen, many are curious to know more about the 45-year-old manager, especially his personal life and marriage with Marie Schoen.

While Joe and Marie have chosen to keep their personal lives private, they have revealed little details to the public.

For instance, in the 2024 documentary “Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants,” Joe revealed that he and Marie had been married for almost 20 years. He quoted,

I tell my wife, we’ve only been married about nine years because the other nine years, I was in a Marriott. It’s crazy, isn’t it?

The couple has three children— two daughters, Sydney and Harper Grace, and a son, Carson Schoen.

Sydney, the oldest, recently joined the University of Mississippi.

She is active on Instagram, where she posts glimpses of her sorority life and various college activities.

Carson Schoen, a high school quarterback, is looking for colleges to offer him a football scholarship.

Marie Schoen is a UNC Greensboro and UNC Charlotte graduate.

After graduating in 2001 with a communications degree, she worked as an investment specialist at the Bank of America Investment Services.

She also worked as a renewal specialist at Rogers Benefit Group.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she has been a sales director at Northwestern Benefits since 2004.

Marie is a big supporter of her husband’s coaching career while balancing her life as a mother of three children and a working woman.

In a January 2023 interview with Sky Sports, Beth Daboll and Marie Schoen, wives of New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen, respectively, discussed their roles in creating a friendly environment within the broader NFL community.

They discussed hosting community-building activities such as family dinners, bible studies, and volunteer projects to create a family-like atmosphere among the team’s staff and their families.

Marie quoted,

It can put a lot of stress on players or other significant others when the wife or significant other feels lonely all day. It’s certainly not perfect, but we’ve done a lot this season, like Beth said with bible service, we offer a lot of different things in the hope somebody can come to one of the things.
