New York Yankees Pitcher Devin Williams will be away for one to three games. He plans to spend time with his family, especially his soon-to-be wife, Maggie Badock.
Williams debuted with the Yankees this past weekend against the Milwaukee Brewers, his old team.
He played in the MLB with the Brewers in 2019, winning the National League’s Rookie of the Year and Reliever of the Year awards in 2020.
He was also selected as an MLB All-Star in both 2022 and 2023.
If Williams misses all three games in the series against the Diamondbacks, Luke Weaver might be the closer for the team.

Only a day before Devin Williams’s paternity leave, his fiance, Maggie Badock, announced on Instagram that they were expecting a child.
Upon hearing the news, the partners of several MLB stars sent their heartfelt congratulations to Maggie.
This included Bobby Witt Jr.’s wife, also named Maggie; Cara, wife of LA Dodgers star Will Smith; and Maria, wife of Pittsburgh Pirates legend Andrew McCutchen.
On 31 March, Williams’s fiancée revealed the joyful news with an Instagram post featuring five pictures.
The first photo showed Maggie gently holding her belly, with a picturesque water view in the background.
