Coach Deion Sanders Initially Paid Child Support, but Later Gained Full Custody of His Two Boys From His Second Ex-Wife

Deion’s first marriage was to Carolyn Chambers. They married in 1989 and had two children together, Deiondra and Deion Sanders Jr.

They divorced in 1998 after nine years of marriage. After the divorce, Carolyn took responsibility for their children.

Following this, Deion married Pilar Biggers-Sanders in 1999. This marriage lasted about 14 years.

Deion and Pilar divorced in 2013 after a long, public legal fight. They had three children together.

The divorce included a child custody battle because the couple had three young children.

During the divorce proceedings, a Texas judge ordered Deion Sanders to pay child support for his children with Pilar.

The court set his payments at about $10,500 per month for their three children.

This was part of a larger ruling that also included paying for his wife’s legal fees and a house payment where their children could stay.

He was ordered to pay $275,000 in Pilar’s legal fees at the time.

However, he was not ordered to pay spousal support. Later, Deion was granted sole custody of the two sons and joint custody of the daughter.

Even though they divorced, both parents have stayed connected to their children’s lives.

Deion has coached his sons in college football, and Pilar has continued supporting them in their careers.

As of now, Deion has built a fulfilling family life for his children, his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sander plays football, while his daughter Shelomi Sanders plays basketball.
