The campaign includes television, digital, and social media ads, with a second TV spot featuring Manning and his Smartly card likely airing later in 2025.

Retired NFL Star Peyton Manning Turns Birdwatching into Fun with U.S. Bank Smartly Visa Ad!

Peyton Manning, who played in the NFL from 1998 to 2015, winning two Super Bowls and earning five NFL MVP awards, has now turned his attention to a new passion, i.e., bird watching.

The 30-second commercial brings a playful approach, featuring Manning turning birdwatching into a competitive challenge while subtly promoting the card’s rewards and financial benefits.

The tagline for the campaign is, “No matter what you buy, earn more, Smartly with the U.S. Bank Smartly Visa Signature Card.

In the advertisement, he has taken his birding hobby to the next level with the help of the U.S. Bank Smartly Visa Signature Card, a credit card with no annual fee that offers cash back on every purchase when paired with a U.S. Bank Smartly Savings account.

Manning is seen pursuing bird watching and purchasing supplies and gear using the Smartly card in the advertisement.

A curious neighbor, who notices Manning visibly excited as he observes the bird through his binoculars, asks him what he’s up to.

Manning responds with a grin, “I’m gettin’ cash back on all of this,” highlighting the card’s benefit of earning up to 4% cash back on every purchase.

Later, the neighbor and Manning decide to scan the skies to enjoy his bird watching.

Steve Mattics, head of Retail Payment Solutions at U.S. Bank, praised Manning’s passion and dedication, saying:

Peyton’s passion for everything he does, while highlighted in a light-hearted way for our campaign, reflects the passion we have for providing our clients with amazing financial service products to improve their lives.
