Cam Akers’s Mother, Angela Michael Neal, Is A Cancer Survivor!
The NFL star Cam Akers’ mother, Angela Michael Neal, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010/11 when Cam was just 11 years old.
In an interview, Angela stated that she lost her hair and her skin got darker, and it was a difficult phase for the whole family.
She also underwent chemotherapy and lost weight and couldn’t even lift her head off the pillow.
However, Angela remained a pillar of strength for her family despite her struggles, ensuring that her children never saw her in a moment of weakness.
Angela stated,
“For kids to see me go through that was a lot for me mentally because no one wants their kids to see them at a low point.“
Cam spent nights watching over his mother, making sure she was okay.
In the end, the family united to overcome this difficult situation, and Cam’s mother successfully survived her battle with cancer.
Moreover, Cam Akers often stated that his mother Angela’s battle with cancer taught him to be strong and never complain in life.
He stated,
“Seeing my mom go through breast cancer — she’s a survivor now — but her going through breast cancer taught me there’s not much to complain about in life, seeing her fight and knowing it was for her children. She said that all the time. It made me a fighter.”

Aker’s mother also always told him to be confident and strong, which helped in his exceptional NFL journey.
In addition to his mother, Cam’s father Conni also played a crucial role in shaping his NFL career.
Cam initially had great interest in baseball and basketball and didn’t even consider pursuing a career in football.
However, his father encouraged him to play football, saying that he couldn’t play basketball if he didn’t play football. Therefore, a lot of credit goes to his father.
“A lot of credit goes to my father, Conni too, because I probably wouldn’t even be here if he hadn’t made me play,” said Cam.
Throughout his growth and achievements, Cam has never forgotten the sacrifices and love of his parents, Angela and Conni.
