They went to the same school until they were both 14 years old.
After John moved to Michigan to pursue his ice hockey career, they lost touch; however, the couple managed to reconnect as they started college.
In an interview, Alexa said, “John was rarely home in Pittsburgh. What are the Chances? I’d say fate! We hadn’t been in touch since 8th grade!.“
Alexa further mentioned that John looked incredibly handsome when they first met after such a long time.
Initially, they just exchanged a quick “Hey” and went on their way, but they soon started talking on a regular basis, eventually leading to the beginning of their romantic relationship.
“We knew very early that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together,” said Alexa.
