John Gibson, an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Anaheim Ducks, found his soulmate in his long-time girlfriend-turned-wife, Alexa DelGreco.

Gibson has known Alexa since they were kids.

Both natives of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John first met Alexa in Kindergarten.

They went to the same school until they were both 14 years old.

After John moved to Michigan to pursue his ice hockey career, they lost touch; however, the couple managed to reconnect as they started college.

In an interview, Alexa said, “John was rarely home in Pittsburgh. What are the Chances? I’d say fate! We hadn’t been in touch since 8th grade!.

Alexa further mentioned that John looked incredibly handsome when they first met after such a long time.

Initially, they just exchanged a quick “Hey” and went on their way, but they soon started talking on a regular basis, eventually leading to the beginning of their romantic relationship.

We knew very early that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together,” said Alexa.

John And Alexa Announced Their Engagement In 2016!

After three and a half years of their romantic relationship, NHL star John Gibson proposed to Alexa on June 2, 2016.

They took to their official Instagram to announce their engagement.

John and Alexa frequently share glimpses of their adventurous and romantic life on social media, expressing their love for one another.

While both John and Alexa maintain a low profile, John often talks about his wife in interviews, describing her as his best friend.

Furthermore, after two years of engagement, John and Alexa exchanged their vows on August 4, 2018, surrounded by their family and close friends.

They are now happily married for over six years and are proud parents of two daughters, Natalia Rose and Sofia Gibson.

They are also known for their charitable work. John and Alexa established Gibson’s Goals, a charitable program that supports adaptive and inclusive hockey programs.

While very little information is available about Alexa, as she prefers to maintain a low profile, she is known to be a former basketball player.

Alexa was a guard at Seton LaSalle High School’s women’s basketball team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
