After finishing college, he believed wrestling was his passion and went for it.
Therefore, he took Mixed Martial Arts training in 2005 and gave his dedication towards Brazilian-Jiu Jitsu and boxing.

Catone was all about to schedule to fight against Amir Sadollah at TUF 7. However, due to an infection of his leg, Nick was pulled out from the match. The fight was again re-scheduled, but this time, Sadollah was injured.
