Nick Nurse And Wife Roberta Are Proud Parents Of Two Kids- Leo And Rocky

American basketball coach Nick Nurse and his wife, Roberta, welcomed their first child, Leo, in 2017. They were blessed with their second son, Rocky, in 2019.

Nicholas David Nurse was born on July 24, 1967, in Carroll, Iowa. 

He is an accomplished basketball coach and former player who played basketball at the collegiate level for the Northern Iowa Panthers.

He started his professional basketball career with the Derby Rams in the British Basketball League.

Not long after his professional playing career, he became a player-coach for the Derby Rams in the British Basketball League.

Nurse’s coaching career began at a young age when he was appointed as the head coach of the men’s basketball team at Grand View University. 

Moreover, He rose to fame as the head coach of the Toronto Raptors in the NBA, leading them to their first-ever NBA championship in 2019.

In 2020, he was honored with the NBA Coach of the Year award for his outstanding coaching abilities.  

His experience as both player and coach has contributed immensely to his success in basketball.

Nick Nurse Wife Roberta 

Nick Nurse and Roberta Nurse tied the knot in a private ceremony on September 26, 2015. Following their marriage, they established their home in Liberty Village. 

Roberta shares her husband’s love for sports and previously worked as an assistant coach at Winthrop University.

According to her LinkedIn profile, She completed her Bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Moreover, she did her Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Brownsville.

Later in 2009, she started her career as a volleyball coach at University of Texas at Brownsville.

Following a four-year as a coach, she became an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Winthrop University.

Roberta later retired from her coaching career, and nowadays, she is focusing on her two children.

Nick and Roberta’s love story started in 2012 when they first met. Their bond grew stronger as they spent more time together.

After dating for two years, Nick proposed to Roberta, asking her to marry him.

Since then, they have built a life together, supporting each other in their respective careers while raising their family with love and commitment.

They welcomed their first son Leo was born in 2017, and their younger son Rockey, on May 20, 2019.

Parents of Nick Nurse

Nick Nurse was born to his parents, Marcella and Maury Nurse, in Carroll, Iowa. 

His parents had different professional backgrounds. His father, Maury Nurse, worked as a Postmaster, while his mother, Marcella Nurse, was a teacher.

Maury was his initial coach for youth basketball and Little League baseball.

Nick was raised with five brothers and three sisters, making for a large family of nine siblings.

This upbringing gave Nick a vibrant and encouraging atmosphere that played a role in his personal and career growth.

Regrettably, Nick Nurse’s father passed away in 2015 at the age of 89, followed by his mother’s passing in 2018 at the age of 94 in Iowa.
