The long-term couple Nikola and his wife, Natalija Macesic Jokic, have been together since high school.
A graduate of the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Natalija moved to the USA in 2013 to play volleyball at Seminole State College in Oklahoma, while Nikola played basketball in Serbia.
Later, she relocated to Denver with the basketball player when he signed with the Denver Nuggets in 2015.
After years of courtship, the high school sweethearts tied the knot on October 2024, 2020, in their hometown of Sombor, Serbia.
Initially scheduled for June 2020, the wedding was postponed after the NBA moved its season to the Bubble in Florida amid COVID.
A year later, Nikola and Natalija welcomed a daughter, Ognjena, in September 2021. Ognjena, whose name means “fiery” in Serbian, has already become familiar at her father’s basketball games.
She even joined him on the court to celebrate the Denver Nuggets’ NBA Championship win in June 2023.
In January 2022, Natalija took to her Instagram to share a throwback picture of what appeared to be her baby shower.

Natalija and their daughter attended the Third Race Day at the city Hippodrome in June 2024. The horses from the stable of the best basketball players in the world, including Nikola, participated in the event.
Before the start of the competition, Natalija was seen adorning a pink sleeveless cardigan and tight, body-hugging white bodycon with what seemed like a baby bump.
Likewise, another video clip from the event showed Natalija in the parafit cheering for Nikola during the race, highlighting her noticeably protruding belly.
Following the event, speculations surrounding the couple’s expecting their second child made grand rounds online in nearly no time.

Although his absence fueled assumptions that the couple might be expecting their second child, no confirmation has been made.
Nuggets lead assistant David Adelman addressed his absence, stating:
It’s personal reasons for him, It’s things at home. For somebody, that’s their business. When he feels like he’s ready to come back, he’ll come back.

Adding to the buzz, a Facebook user named Rist Stamkov congratulated the couple on a Denver Nuggets public group writing: “Congratulations to Nikola Jokic. New baby is there! Welcome baby.“
