Quarterback Steve Angeli and his parents, Stefanie and Janos Angeli, don’t usually make headlines. But after Angeli’s impactful performance in the Orange Bowl, the young talent deserves all the praise.
Angeli entered the game against Penn State when his team was trailing 10-0 and had lost its starting quarterback, Riley Leonard, to concussion.
The backup quarterback felt like a breath of fresh air for Notre Dame and the catalyst for their stagnant offense.
Angeli completed six of seven passes for 44 yards, and the Fighting Irish went on to punch their tickets for the National Championship showdown against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He started his career on December 30, 2023, in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game against Oregon State.
The quarterback finished 15 for 19 for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Before playing against Penn State on Thursday, Angeli had only played six regular-season games.
This only proves that when the pressure is at its peak, Angeli doesn’t fumble and can be the player the coach and the team can rely on.
During the victory speech, the star quarterback Riley Leonard praised Steve for the much-needed field goal and said everybody on the team trusted him to deliver.
Despite his excellent backup performance, Angeli has preferred to keep himself out of the media circus, and so has his family.
Even after the win, Angeli didn’t share any celebratory posts on his Instagram handle, nor did his parents.
Steve Angeli’s Parents, Janos and Stefanie, Do Not Have an Athletic Background!
There is a good chance that most college athletes are kids of famous parents involved in sports or parents who have previously played sports at a college level. But this isn’t true in Steve Angeli and his parents’ case.
His father, Janos Angeli, graduated from Maine Maritime Academy with a degree in Marine Engineering Technology.
Janos was involved in a rugby club but has never mentioned any playing time.
After graduating, he went on to work as Corporate Director at Hackensack Meridian Health Group.
Between 2015 and 2021, Janos worked for Celgene, a pharmaceutical company. He served as their Executive Director for Global Capital Project Engineering.
Since 2023, Janos has been the Vice President of Enterprise Project Management at Colliers, an investment management company.

Steve’s mom, Stefanie Angeli, has had a career trajectory similar to that of his father.
She graduated from Monmouth University with a Communications degree in 1986 and has since worked for several corporate companies in various positions.
Stefanie started as an Associate Media Manager at Kraft Foods and worked in the sales and advertising field throughout the 90s and the 2000s.
In 2014, she joined Newsday Media Group as their National Sales Director. She held the same position for two other companies, Endeavor Business Media and Vendome Group.
Since 2019, Stefanie has served as ALM Media’s Senior Account Manager.
Despite their son being a four-star recruit out of high school, Janos and Stefanie never surrounded themselves with cameras and have never given any lengthy interviews to media houses.
They are available on Instagram, but Janos and Stefanie have their handle in private mode.
Steve Angeli’s Elder Brother Played Football at Fordham University!
Notre Dame’s quarterback isn’t his parents’ only kid. Steve has two older brothers, Nick and Jack Angeli.
Nick and Jack might be Steve’s half-brothers as Nick’s bio for Fordham University states that he is the son of Stefanie Angeli and Alexander Savchenko and stepson of Janos Angeli.
The bio also states that Jack is Nick’s older brother, making Jack, Stefanie, and Alexander’s child.
Steve’s half-brother, Nick, played the sport at Saint Peter Prep in Jersey City.
He served as a team captain in his senior year and helped his side to the 2014 Group 4 Non-Public State Championship game.
The defensive lineman didn’t have a strong impact on the football field and decided to pursue a career away from it.
Since graduating from Fordham in 2018, Nick has served as a Sales Representative at Stryker, a medical technology company.
He previously worked as an intern at Celgene, the same workplace as his stepdad.
Steve and Nick’s older brother, Jack Angeli, have no connection with the football world. He graduated from Penn State and worked as a Regional Consultant for Goldman Sachs.
Since 2023, Jack has been working with the investment management company BlueMatrix. He joined the company as their Client Relationship Manager and is working as their Sales Manager.
Like their parents, Jack and Nick have kept their handles private. Their Facebook page is available for public viewing but is inactive.
