Since taking over in December 2021, he has posted a 28-9 coaching record. His team is also poised to make the College Football Playoff this season.

As the 38-year-old coach continues to gain the attention of NFL teams, many fans are curious to know more about him, including his personal life and his marriage to Joanna Freeman, his wife of 14 years.

Joanna Freeman, born Joanna Herncane on August 24, 1984, in Queens, New York, was raised in Ohio.

He was a two-time Second-team All-Big Ten selection and finished his college career with 268 tackles, making him 19th on the school’s all-time tackle list.

Marcus and Joanna’s shared experiences in student government led to a relationship that would withstand the challenges of collegiate sports and academic commitments.

The couple married on February 20, 2010.

They are proud parents to six children: Vinny, Siena, Gino, Nico, Capri, and Rocco.

Marcus also has a daughter named Bria, who is from a previous relationship with Aynsley Collier.
