Jackson Paveletzke, a senior guard for the University of Ohio men’s basketball team, has followed in the footsteps of his parents, John and Julie Paveletzke, carving his own path in the sport while building on a proud family legacy.
Hailing from Kimberly, Wisconsin, Jackson has become a central figure for the Bobcats, showcasing his skill, leadership, and dedication both on and off the court.
Jackson’s basketball journey began at Kimberly High School, where he led the team to a regional championship in his senior season while averaging 30 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per game.
During his high school career, he set a single-game scoring record with 50 points and helped his team to a state runner-up finish as a junior.
A two-time Fox Valley Association Conference Player of the Year and two-time All-Area Player of the Year, Jackson also earned WBCA First Team All-State honors twice. His remarkable achievements made him the all-time leading scorer at Kimberly High School.
Beyond athletics, Jackson excelled academically and actively volunteered at local basketball camps, demonstrating his commitment to community and personal growth.
After high school, Jackson began his collegiate career at Wofford, where he was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year.
Starting all 33 games, he averaged 15.1 points and 3.7 assists per game, finishing strong with double-digit scoring in the last 14 games of the season.
Jackson’s performances earned him an invite to the USA Basketball U19 Training Camp.
The following season, he transferred to Iowa State, where he contributed 3.4 points per game over 33 games.
In 2024, he joined the University of Ohio, starting all 31 games and averaging 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
He shot 51.2 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from three, and 76.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Jackson recorded career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and steals throughout the season and scored his 1,000th career point on March 4, 2025.
His performance earned him Third Team All-MAC honors and recognition on the Academic All-District® Men’s Basketball Team.
Basketball talent runs deep in Jackson’s family. His father, John Paveletzke, stood 6-foot-3 and earned three varsity letters in basketball at Menasha High School, averaging 16.7 points per game as a senior under coach Don Gosz.
John later played college basketball at St. Norbert.
Jackson’s mother, Julie Dellemann Paveletzke, played softball at Denmark High School, further highlighting the family’s athletic roots.
Furthermore, Jackson frequently credits his parents for inspiring his love for sports, and the family often shares moments of pride on social media, celebrating his successes and milestones.
Jackson’s sisters, Ella and Olivia Paveletzke, are also accomplished athletes.
Ella, a 2024 graduate of Kimberly High School, starred on the varsity basketball team, while Olivia, part of the Class of 2027, plays point guard for Kimberly High School and the club team Team 1848.
The Paveletzke family clearly shares a passion for athletics, creating a supportive environment that has helped Jackson thrive at every stage of his basketball journey.
