Basketball player Chet Holmgren attributes his successful career to his parents, Dave Holmgren and Sarah Harris. His father has been assisting him in court, whereas his mother helps manage targeted consultancy assignments.

The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted the 24-year-old Chet Holmgren in the 2nd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Before turning professional, Holmgren played college basketball for Gonzaga Bulldogs. He is best known for his three-pointers.

OKC forward-center Chet Holmgren was born to his parents, Dave Holmgren and Sarah Harris, on May 1, 2002, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.

OKC Forward Center Chet Holmgren’s Father, Dave Holmgren, Started Recording Him Playing Basketball Since He Was Six!

Chet Holmgren’s father, Dave Holmgren, had a background in basketball. Dave was a collegiate basketball player for the University of Minnesota from 1984 to 1988.

Standing at an impressive 7-foot-tall, Dave reportedly played 57 college basketball games for Minnesota during his four-year college career.

Before that, he was a star athlete at Central High School in Minneapolis. His promising skills and passion led him to make headlines in the now-retired local newspaper Sports.

Although Dave had a promising rising basketball career, he didn’t make it to being a professional player.

His basketball career was allegedly cut short because of his bad knees. That said, we can definitely say that he passed down the passion and tall genes.

The tall genes certainly helped, with Holmgren inheriting his father’s stature and reaching 6 feet 2 inches himself.

Given this fact, it didn’t come as a surprise for Holmgren to become inclined toward the sport.

Growing up, Holmgren learned the game under his father’s guidance. He credits Dave not only for his skills but also for shaping the person he is today.

One of the crucial elements of their relationship was Dave’s commitment to examining Holmgren’s court performance.

Starting in sixth grade, he began recording Chet Holmgren’s games. This was after an incident when Dave pointed out that he wasn’t boxing out, and he disagreed.

Dave began filming games to settle the debate, initially using a basic home camcorder before upgrading to more advanced equipment.

Reflecting on his father’s efforts, Holmgren expressed his gratitude in an interview with NBA on ESPN, saying:

I’m very thankful for everything he’s done
