Olathe West High School athlete Kane Taddese tragically passed away, leaving everyone devastated.

Kane Taddese was a multi-sport athlete from Olathe, Kansas, who showcased his versatility and dedication throughout his high school years.

A member of the Olathe West High School Class of 2019, Taddese balanced commitments across track and field, wrestling, and football, displaying a strong work ethic and determination to excel.

Standing 5’8” and weighing 135 pounds, he competed with relentless energy despite not having the prototypical size of many varsity athletes.

His athletic career began at Olathe Northwest High School, where he wrestled from 2015 to 2018 before transitioning to Olathe West.

There, he expanded his involvement, joining the boys’ varsity wrestling and football teams, while also competing in track and field.

Wearing number 22 for the football team, Taddese added another dimension to his athletic identity.

His senior season highlights, shared publicly in April 2019, captured the culmination of years of hard work and development.

Beyond the stats and records, his profile reflects the story of a dedicated student-athlete who embraced every opportunity to represent his school.

Kane Taddese Passed Away At The Age Of 24

As per the reports, Kane Taddese died in August 2025 at the age of 24.

His life was tragically taken in an act of senseless gun violence.

Dale Williams from Olathe, Kansas, took to his official Facebook handle to announce the tragic news. He wrote,

Several close ones and relatives have poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Kane’s family to stay strong in this challenging time.

Chantal Best has organized the fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help Kane’s family with funeral costs.

The campaign aims to collect over $16k, and it has collected around $10,951.

Kane will always be remembered for his unforgettable contribution as an athlete at Olathe West High School.
