While Chris Beard might have a victorious coaching career, he has had a tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife, Leslie, and current fiancée, Randi Trew.

Chris Beard has been making waves recently after his football team, Ole Miss, made a historic win at Alabama.

In January 2025, Beard’s Ole Miss team faced the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

For Beard, this game held special significance because he had previously guided the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to a noteworthy 30-5 season and an upset of Purdue in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.

Chris Beard And His Ex-Wife, Leslie, Divorced After 24 Years Of Marriage!

Leslie Beard is the ex-wife of the Ole Miss Rebels men’s basketball coach Chris Beard.

While specific details about their relationship remain ambiguous, the couple had married in 1996.

Before they split in 2020, they had welcomed three daughters: Avery, Ella, and Margo Beard.

Although the reason behind their subsequent divorce has intrigued many, his recent domestic abuse case could have been a factor.

However, she had been a rock and strong support system for the head coach during their marriage.

Since Chris was the head coach of the college football team, he constantly had pressure for him. His career is very physically and emotionally draining.

However, Leslie remained at his side, fully caring for and loving their children.

Nonetheless, tension grew more around the couple, who eventually filed for divorce after nearly 24 years of marriage.

Although the couple has separated, they still co-parent their children together.

Leslie Beard was born in Texas on June 21, 1974. Moreover, she graduated from McCullough High School in the Woodlands.

She is a businesswoman and owner of a Texas-based luxury jewelry store, Space by Leslie Beard. Her talent and skills are visible through the beautiful and intricate jewelry designs.

Besides jewelry, Space also sells home decor items, barware, cleaning supplies, and dishware.

Hence, Leslie Elizabeth Lederer has independently carved out a name for herself.

The Head Coach Has Had A Tumultuous Relationship With His Fiancee, Randi Trew!

However, the head coach seems to have moved on and is now dating Randi Trew. Their shared love for sports brought them closer.

Trew was born in Lubbock, Texas, on August 23, 1984, to parents Charlotte and Donald Trew.

Furthermore, she is an English teacher and volleyball coach at Frenship High School.

Randi formerly worked as a head volleyball coach at Princeton High School in 2012.

Similarly, she was also a head volleyball coach at Levelland. Interestingly, Trew is a former college basketball player at Texas Tech University and Wayland Baptist University.

Like her fiance, Chris Beard, Randi was also married to James Bobo, later divorcing him.

In 2022, Chris Beard discovered himself embroiled in a terrifying domestic abuse charge.

The authorities arrested him on December 12, 2022, with a third-degree felony charge of assault against a family member for strangulation.

Around 12:15 a.m. local time on December 12,  the Austin Police Department received a critical disturbance report from a woman who said Beard had choked her.

Moreover, Trew also claimed that she and Beard had fought for many days. The day before the incident, Beard “snapped on me and became super violent” after she smashed his glasses.

Beard was detained at 4:18 a.m. in Travis County Jail before being suspended indefinitely by Texas later that evening.

Therefore, Rodney Terry stepped over as a temporary coach in his absence.

However, Trew later contradicted her statement and testified that Beard was acting in self-defense and had never strangled her.

“Chris and I are deeply saddened that we have brought negative attention upon our family, friends, and the University of Texas, among others. As Chris’ fiancée and biggest supporter, I apologize for the role I played in this unfortunate event. I realize that my frustration, when breaking his glasses, initiated a physical struggle between Chris and myself. Chris did not strangle me, and I told that to law enforcement that evening. Chris has stated that he was acting in self-defense, and I do not refute that. I do not believe Chris was trying to intentionally harm me in any way. It was never my intent to have him arrested or prosecuted. We appreciate everyone’s support and prayers during this difficult time.”

Beard eventually received suspension without pay from the University of Texas. Sadly, he also lost his job at the University of Texas on January 5, 2023.

After Randi retracted her initial statements, the legal authorities reviewed the case, dropping it due to inadequate evidence. Since then, the couple has kept a very low profile.
