Mason, Michigan Native and Olivet College soccer star Ethan Lockwood, 21, Dies, Leaving Behind Parents Jason and Cheryl and His Siblings

The Mason, Michigan, community is mourning the untimely death of beloved member and standout collegiate soccer player, Ethan Lockwood.

Ethan Lockwood passed away unexpectedly at an untimely age of 21; however, his family has not yet revealed the details surrounding his passing.

Ethan touched the lives of many with his kind-hearted nature and exceptional athletic skills, excelling in multiple sports.

He began his athletic career from a very young age and went on to become a multi-sports athlete at Mason High School, where he played for both the boys’ varsity soccer and baseball teams.

A 2022 graduate, Ethan Lockwood, wore jersey #11 and played as a defender on the boys’ soccer team at Mason High School, leading his team to several victories.

Ethan also led his varsity baseball team to several victories throughout his high school journey.

Furthermore, Ethan Lockwood committed to play soccer at Olivet College in 2022 and was thriving in his athletic career playing for Olivet’s men’s soccer team until his recent passing.

Standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, Ethan played as a defender for the Olivet College men’s soccer team, leading his team in several victories. He was pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Insurance and was set to graduate in April 2026.

Despite his passing, Ethan’s kind nature and his contribution to the community as an amazing athlete will always be remembered.

Mason Community Has Created a Fundraiser To Help Ethan Lockwood’s Family

The untimely death of Ethan Lockwood has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Ethan and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Similarly, the Mason, Michigan, community has also created a GoFundMe page to help Ethan’s family ease the financial burden during this devastating time.

The fundraiser aims to collect $9k, and to date, around $8,305 has been raised.

Ethan Lockwood is survived by his parents, Jason and Cheryl Lockwood; sisters, McKenzie and Brooklyn; brother, Jackson; grandparents; uncles; aunts; cousins; and the entire family.

While his family hasn’t released any statement regarding the untimely passing of Ethan, as they are currently grieving the loss, his mother, Cheryl, often shares pictures of him on social media expressing her love and pride.

Ethan’s mother, Cheryl Lockwood, has been serving as Clinical Manager at Physicians Review Organization, Inc. since 2015. Previously, she served as the company’s Project Manager for over 14 years.

Cheryl earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Davenport University.

Likewise, Ethan’s father, Jason Lockwood, is a manager at Kroger and a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law.

Talking about his siblings, like Ethan, all three of his siblings are exceptional athletes.

His elder brother, Jackson Lockwood, played varsity football at Mason High School and graduated in 2021.

Similarly, both of his sisters, McKenzie and Brooklyn Lockwood, are high school athletes at Mason High School.

McKenzie, a recent graduate of Mason High School, played as a midfielder for the girls’ varsity soccer team, and Brooklyn, a member of the class of 2028, plays as a DS for the Girls’ varsity volleyball team.
