Olivia McDaniel’s career in soccer has been largely influenced by her parents. Clint and Lindy introduced the soccer player to the game at the age of seven.
In addition to being Olivia McDaniel’s parents and mentors, Clint and Lindy are the biggest supporters of her game.
Moreover, the love for soccer runs down the bloodline in McDaniel’s family. Lindy’s father is a soccer coach, and younger siblings are also into the same sport.
The American-born Filipino, Olivia Davies-McDaniel, is a professional soccer player for the Philippines women’s national team.
The 27-year-old started playing soccer at 7 for Norco Cougars and later trained for the Philippines national team at 12.
Similarly, Olivia’s college career began in 2015 with Cal State Titans at California State University until, in 2016, she joined the University of Wisconsin and played for the Panthers.
Later, the Philippines goalkeeper made her debut with the women’s national team at the 2021 AFC Women’s Asia Cup Qualifiers.
McDaniel was part of the 2022 AFF Women’s Championship winning team alongside the midfielder Sarina Bolden.
Moreover, her two saves out of three penalties against Chinese Taipei at the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers led the Philippines to their first-ever World Cup tournament.
Olivia McDaniel Parents: Lindy And Clint
Olivia’s father, Clint, is originally from Orange, California, whereas her mother, Lindy, is a Filipina whose roots are in Pampanga and Davao City.
The couple met in college at the University of California in San Barbara, where Clint studied Film Studies.
Olivia’s father later studied MBA at Chapman University and worked at Corona Eagles FC as a coach in California.
Moreover, the former Assistant Coach at Philippine Women’s National Team has over 30 years of coaching experience. Clint currently is Vice President at South Coast Industrial Door, Inc.
Additionally, Olivia’s mother, Lindy, is also a soccer enthusiast.
Nonetheless, Lindy got connected with the then PWNFT’s coach, Ernie Nierras, in 2012 and later got involved with the Olympic Development Program.

Clint is an accomplished soccer coach who contributes a plethora of expertise to Olivia’s goalkeeping training.
Olivia has surely developed her talents and nurtured her sporting aptitude thanks to her father’s advice and knowledge.
Her passion for the sport has been fueled mainly by her parent’s constant support and encouragement since she was a young child.
Clint and Lindy are almost always seen attending her game, cheering for her at the stadium.
“She was a striker at a younger age, a very good one actually, but at about nine years old, she decided that goalkeeping was a better fit for her,” Clint recently said in an interview.
