His transition to ski cross proved immensely successful as he won bronze at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the first time ski cross was featured in the Games.
That moment marked a historic podium for Norway as he edged into third after Canadian competitor Christopher Del Bosco crashed in the final.
Grønvold’s accomplishments also include a bronze medal at the 2005 FIS Freestyle World Championships and capturing the overall Ski Cross World Cup title in 2007.
Nationally, he was a multiple-time champion in both downhill and ski cross disciplines.

He served as the head coach of the Norwegian ski cross team from 2010 to 2012 and later transitioned into sports commentary and the sporting goods business.
